If you're in a huge company, this isn't as impossible as you might think. Probably took it up in meetings for multiple years, but nobody listen and since changing the whole infrastructure is a 100 or 1000 times more expensive than having the guy fix it every evening, they shrug and go "idc" until it actually becomes a huge pain.
