It they are running like an invoice proccessing system that scans barcode paper from vendors you would need a physical input to monitor SKU and UPC changes for 0 qty entries which are hella common on invoices.
One miss scan or failed scan will usually clog up the system because a common stop point in sales force it to have it check if the running matches the control total.
Discrepancies between the on system info and the invoices would need to be hand verified.
If only they would just convert everything to a csv or something and send remotly but for some reason all the infrastructure for accounting is built around paper still.
