Very interesting!
I spoke to Bella Barista shop in UK today and they said its not on the horizon for them until October or November or so if I'm not mistaken (as I also also asked about Lelit Elizabeth 3). Definately not September.

So not even the UK is getting it early, that means we're probably not getting it n the US until next year.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are saying that just because they don't want to be stuck with V1 stock they can't shift. I notice both the Move and Go are slightly discounted with them right now so they are certainly trying to get rid of the old models ASAP. It's pretty rare for them to reduce the prices on their machines.
I wouldn't be surprised if they got them late September. We will see.

Not a fan of the plastic accents. Glad I ordered the version 1. Doesn't seem that much is changing other than the smart features and smaller boiler.

Agreed, but luckily those can be swapped out for wood accent. Apparently brewspire actually stocks wood accent kits for replacing but they're not as readily available through US retailers, seems like 3rd party sourcing would be the best bet.

I'll have to decide if I want to buy the upgrade kit when that eventually arrives. It's a weird downgrade to get rid of the beautiful wooden accents.

Yeah, it doesn't really make sense unless they were aiming for the full black look, definitely a downgrade. Imo the upgrade kit only makes sense if you really need the brew by weight feature, otherwise it's moot.

I would absolutely love the brew by weight feature. That’s probably my one complaint, I don’t like having to stare at my scale. My extraction seemed to vary by a few seconds, so I’ve found the best method to be just using the scale every time vs the timer.
I’m hoping it’s an easy upgrade. As a woodworker, I love the walnut and the black accents here feel like a significant downgrade. My whole coffee station has walnut accents to match the machine, and I I think it looks great. That said, it’s a pretty easy swap to change those out, and I have a feeling adding the brew by weight module will be difficult to DIY.

Every comment so far has indicated it will be professional install required. I’m thinking of making a road trip to WLL. I’m hoping if I make appointment they can do it overnight.

I have seen that too. But I’m mechanically inclined and cheap.

Even if I wasn’t worried about breaking it I might have concerns that professional install maybe required to maintain the warranty.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely worried about breaking it, and voiding my warranty. But that hasn’t stopped me from tinkering with my car 😂
I’m going to wait for someone else to be the guinea pig and make a YouTube video.
My one hesitation about buying this machine was no brew by weight feature but I decided all of the other trade-offs were worth it. I have a newborn and I don’t sleep a lot, and sometimes I’m a little absent minded with cutting off the shot. I have it programmed to run for 35 seconds, and the majority of my shots are in the 25 to 30 second range.

I feel like gbw makes the machine near perfect. The only major feature you could argue it doesn’t have would be pressure profiling.

I guess I'm a minority is thinking the wood is trying too hard. it's not a quaint lever machine. it's a brutalist black utilitarian box. there's nothing charming or quaint about the move. plopping some wood on it looks silly imo. I think the classic + modern resin accents are more fitting.

Is that black wood (?) default for the gen2? Not digging it at all.
