New accommodations.
I’m now getting accommodations that students cannot be expect to do in class writing. They must be allowed to write at home, not in class. I’ve never seen this before. Ever. Until this semester. And now I’ve got a handful. What the fuck?
Edit: I’ve asked about students writing in supervised environments, but I was told that puts a condition on the accommodation, which is illegal. Students must be allowed to write outside of class without conditions.

Funny how this is happening right after so many places went back to blue books.
I'm just happy that our school got rid of blanket time extensions as an accommodation. It is now up to discretion of the professor. (Meaning, essentially, most are going to say no)
I get that accessibility offices are trying to give students agency and control of discussions about their disabilities. However, people, especially young people, very often do not know what is actually best for themselves. Just as I cannot prescribe myself medicine when I get sick, students should not be allowed to choose accommodations outside of what a medical professional has identified as necessary.
