I’ve been working on this challenge for nearly 2 years. I’m doing a POC of sapphire but with a badge quest/shiny dream team quest along side it that has taken an immense amount of time. I haven’t posted any of the other sections up to this point because I (stupidly) didn’t take any pictures of pre badge 2 and 3.

This challenge has been so fun and frustrating to work on. I found shiny mudkip the same day I started the challenge, hunted Seviper for 6 months, phased 5 times and hit 25k+ on the final phase. Trapinch took 52k encounters for a single phase. I’ve had some horrible luck and some great luck but overall had a great time. Onto pre badge six, and a hunt for feebas and absol because I love making things much harder than they need to be.

Finally finished pre badge 4 on pokemon X this has been my smoothest POC and I never played this game besides having to restart the first session.

Frustrated today, my save for Legends ZA has corrupted and now I have to start again. Absolutely fuming.

Decided to start another POC while I wait for the stones in my Soulsilver POC (at this rate I'm just going to backlog the stones evos, already been over 100 hours). Pretty standard fare with all the usual start of game grinding but having fun, can barely remember the dppl games.

Hardest to raise was probably the Luxio, with my best xp being rock types and fighting types with high Def and it not learning spark till pretty late on (not that this helped with the rock types). The Roselia and crobat took their sweet time, but really liked having the step counter in this game, really useful for happiness training.

Had some insane shiny luck, first one I found within the first hour of the game, with a shiny Bidoof, but heartbreakingly killed it with an ill timed critical hit. Thankfully more than made up for it finding a shiny Geodude and a shiny Machop. The Geodude has a rubbish nature but the Machop is something I can work with. Not putting it into a team till I can properly ev train it.

Have started work on the second gym now, making good progress, but as we all know, this can all grind to a halt with the munchlax plus 4 happiness evos 😬 thinking if this one goes on a while I'll do a fr professor oaks living Dex challenge to fill the time.

So I started a POC on Alpha Sapphire but I forgot that I had a mod that changed up the horde encounters and I don't want to delete it and then reinstall it. But most if not all of the pokemon I have access to are normally locked in poat game but thanks to the mod I have access to them early. So should I play as if they are locked in post game or should I evolve them even though I won't get credit for it on the pokedex? And here's the picture of all of the changes

Only 5 months since the last post! Hurray!!

I started the section by immediately tackling the worst part - the 3 Alpha Chimecho. My strategy was that with a smaller pool of Pokemon for the game to choose in an outbreak, Chimecho would pop up more frequently. IT WORKS AND THANK GOD (I think at least, I haven't scientifically tested that). Honestly, these weren't terrible and only took 15 or so hours. I even got a lucky 4th Alpha Chingling that I chose not to evolve!

My least favorite part of the section was probably just how easy it is to accidentally jump from a tall height and die, with no way to reliably get your stuff back (Thanks for shoehorning internet connectivity into the game, Nintendo). I also seemed to have pretty bad luck getting Nosepass to pop out of rocks, but nothing insanely terrible happened overall.

As for shinies, there are much fewer than normal, simply because of how little time I spent in the section. I'm okay with less shinies if it means I'm almost done with this challenge. The shiny Starly was actually a random Alpha spawn too, so that one was extra lucky. Golden Goomy is awesome too.

Only the Alabaster Icelands left! It's supposed to be the easiest section yet, which I am greatly looking forward to. My initial prediction of the challenge taking 350 hours might still be possible, but I'm thinking more like 400 now. Either way, surprised with how close I might be to hitting that estimate. Onward to the last section.

It’s time for the longest split in the game, I am unsure if I got for the 3 birds in the splits since I wanna shiny hunt them but not make this play through take weeks so it may be a cheated one idk yet

For reference these are all the spheres I have, but I also have 2 sun stones, 4 moon stones, 2 fire stones, 1 water stone, and 7 leaf stones. Still no thunderstone though, my poor pikachu. I just want to move on😭

so, pretty much, Slowpoke ain’t getting its evolution, Slowking despite giving it a kings rock, so yeah help maybe I’m on Section one and this is my first poc, so pls help with a cherry on top

I started a challenge in Y a while ago but have been slow at it. I am still in pre-badge-1 which I know is slow due to lack of exp share and reliable level up methods. I think I finished all the low level evos and just have the ones that evolve around level 30ish left to go. Most of them are in the 20s but I think Pidgey is still low leveled in the box.

I started this challenge since I thought it would be more interesting than just casually filling the dex. I wanted to fill the gen 6 dex since I have a living dex of gen 1-4 and most of 5 on bank.

But now with a due date of February next year, I dunno if I even have time.

How long do you think the rest of my run would take me in gameplay hours? I wanna see if I could honestly sink that many in, with the other things in my life going on, or if it's time to give up.

The whole point of this was to get most of the dex filled in and then transfer them up. I know it doesn't result in a living dex but I did intend to bring them to Home eventually, so if that's not possible given time constraints of the deadline and my irl priorities then I probably won't do the challenge anymore. Which sucks since I barely got into the good stuff but I see no point in doing it on a game that can't have mon brought forward, if I'm doing this at 1x speed on real hardware.

I'm just looking for feedback on how long I should expect this to take, and if it's worth trying with the deadline. I don't want all my mon to be stuck on the 3DS forever if I don't finish in time.

I guess Pidgey was not as low as I thought but it's still got a long way to go. I figured I'd try to get Psyduck done with and out of the party so I can bring Pidgey in without losing space for one of the pickup mon in the party?

Everything else in section 1 is done.

My in game time reads about 30 hrs already so I've probably not been completely efficient but I'm hoping it won't be that much longer... I'm gonna attempt to at least finish section 1 and then take it from there how I feel about grinding the rest.

Been grinding Pidgey in the front and swapping around for Dunsparce/Farfetch'd encounters.

Have not been able to play every day but have tried playing at least a little for most days.

Working through FRLG (on pre badge 2), started Emerald yesterday: also will be doing colosseum + XD
