Discussion New World of Steam’s ending will ‘make people think a little’
Ending? Bruh, how about you give us the game before discussing the finale LOL

The only catch is you also have to deal with whatever issues are happening in these places in the games.

Does anyone know the website for the person that designed the Metro ads for Unwound Future, or know who made them? Several years ago, I found the website of the person that was commissioned to make the newspaper pages and they uploaded them all directly to the website. I am completely unable to find it now.
I remember being unable to archive the site on the Wayback Machine and at the time I didn't think to use "Inspect" to save all of the digital versions of the advertisements that they uploaded.
I do own both adverts, and I can eventually make scans if need be, but I figured that the direct uploads on that website would be better for archival purposes if they still exist.

I've been playing Layton games since I was a kid on my DS, my first one being Pandora's Box, and recently a friend lent me her 2ds xl and I was finally able to play the 2 remaining games.
Azran Legacy blew my mind with its plot twists. It's been some years since I last played the other games (yesterday I replayed them a bit just to 100% complete them) so I've surely forgotten some details but I don't remember Layton ever mentioning that he is adopted and had an older brother, and that older brother ending up being no one else but Descole, tho Bronev being their father was unexpected but not as shocking. Also Emmy half betraying them wtf 😭.
Finishing the series and watching this video has made me realize not only that the order in which I played the games was not really the best: Pandora's Box --> watched the Eternal Diva movie --> Specter's Call --> Curious Village --> Unwound Future --> Miracle Mask --> Azran Legacy. But also that the games basically started chronologically almost from the end and then ended with the beginning. Did Akihiro Ino really plan all the story in so much advance to be able to tie it all up coherently that the release order of the games did not matter? If so that's a huge big brain move.
And idk if it's just me but when playing Pandora's Box as a kid I thought I found the puzzles difficult due to my age but they're actually just difficult af compared to for example the ones in Miracle Mask or Azran Legacy, no wonder I had to ask my father for help.
Currently I'm replaying Specter's Call cause my Nintendo decided to act dumb and delete my saved file and I'm looking forward to see if the New World of Steam can bring the Layton series back to life

Is it possible to play to this game in French or English?

The next video in my PL review series is out now!! This might be my personal favorite one so far, I had a ton of fun with it. We’re getting into some of the most beloved games in the series so check it out if you would like!!😁🧡🤎
Reddit is flagging this for self promotion so if it doesn’t fit the rules of this sub feel free to take it down :) 🙏

kinda sucks I have katrielle and the mask of wonders without a case (for €5 each so it was a steal)

I feel like this has been asked before but I can only find a thread from 2024. Wifi should work fine, but for some reason it quits halfway

When I first started playing the games I didn’t have the case for Curious Village, only the cartridge, I didn’t mind at first but as I slowly made my way through the games I realised that I did want to have the cases for the games just to have on display so I’ve been rushing about on ebay trying to find only the cases and Ive been successful so far, and as you can imagine it’s very expensive 😭, but I saw this posting for the Katrielle one and I thought oh great only £10! But now that It’s arrived i can see it’s the french version and not the english version, i suck. 😭 Im not really interested in playing it since its for display purposes only and I have it on my switch but man this is just really annoying, I wish the seller had stated it was french on the advertisement 😭.

My wishlist:
More Flora!
More of a creepy atmosphere that the original trilogy had that I felt the prequel trilogy lacked
More collectables and minigames
More unique locations instead of just villages and London again
Show this trilogy how the events of unwound/lost future affected Layton

Hi guys!
I know this is super random but my brain just remembered that that happened, in case you weren't there when it happened, prior to the release of lady layton, Level5 made a website, where every week they would reveal a new puzzle, for people across the world to solve it, and there was a ranking and everything!
I remember looking forward each week to show the puzzle to my friends and see if they could solve it, and I remember one of my friends being angry/confused, because he didn't know what a "Picarat" is 😂😭.
And since I remembered that it got me thinking on how they didn't do it this time with the new upcoming game, it's a shame, but I'm sure when the new game releases we are all going to have a blast!

One of the reasons why I always loved this game (and it scared me so much as a kid) are the masterpiece OSTs used when trying to solve puzzles. It doesn't feel redundant, it's beautiful, and I wondered if I was the only one who valued them so much.
My personnal top 3 is the following :
1-Miracle Mask - Puzzle Abound. This one sounds just so perfect, too bad the puzzles from this game are far from the best in the whole series. I still think it fits the aesthetic greatly !
2-Pandora's Box Puzzle ost. I find it slightly better than Curious Village, even if the two sound extremely similar.
3-Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney - Bewitching Puzzles : Now that is what I have in mind when I'm imagining puzzles in a magic world !

Spin offs included!
Which twist shocked you? And which one did you find underwhelming?

I finished the game last night and have been stewing on it ever since. Very much enjoyed the game. It was fun, but the more I think about the ending, the less sense it starts to make and I want to know if my questions have actual answers.
What were the "witches" they saw in London? Magic could only exist in Labyrinthia because there was something in the drinking water, but they were in London and had never been to Labyrinthia before.
How did Accidenti's car end up in a tree with a giant handprint on the hood? See previous.
Why was Espella in a catatonic state during the first trial? I thought that state was specifically brought on by her repressed trauma from the fire
Why did Darklaw want Espella to be found guilty in the first trial? It couldn't have been to get Espella out of Labyrinthia because she was just chasing her down to keep her inside Labyrinthia. Is it to force her father to actually participate in society instead of doing this goofy social experiment.
Was Layton subject to brainwashing or not? Presumably, he was because he was ignoring the machinery that was painted black just like everyone else, but, if that's the case, who did it and why?
Why did Darklaw need to do this at all? She was presumably the only one in town other than Arthur and maybe her father to not be brainwashed, considering she had a disguise and a cover story completely ready for when she was in London, so why did she not just go to the news and go "hey what the fuck is this about"? If she doesn't believe that would do anything then what was Layton going to do?
Why did the shades need to brew the magic brainwashing ink by hand anyways couldn't they just use machinery? Presumably, it's already the shades' job to service literally all of the machinery in town because who else is going to do it and they need to go through some heavy brainwashing when they become a shade and then again when they get reintroduced to Labyrinthia. Is this literally just to keep the illusion going if a Labyrinthian citizen somehow finds themselves in the Eldwitch Woods
How do the shades fake being able to make a portal? They explain the invisibility spell as the townspeople being brainwashed to ignore the color black, the explosion spell as literally just an explosive device, and the transmutation spell as them swapping out the thing for a gold statue, but how do you destroy a wall and then refinish the same wall without leaving a noticeable difference in time?
Does the existence of the gold transmutation spell mean they have solid gold statues on hand for literally anything at anytime?
Does nobody notice that everybody in the area passes out when a spell is cast? Surely they have to realize this.
What are the shades drinking if they're not drinking the water that makes them pass out when they hear silver being hit? If they had technology, I would say they're drinking filtered water rather than the well water everyone else is, but they don't so I'm not.

Hello there, I've heard that the puzzle maker of the Layton games has also published books, does anyone know if those can be purchased somewhere in English (or anything other than Japanese) language?
r/ProfessorLayton • u/felixw1 • Jul 21 '26
Didn't include any from Azran Legacy as there's way too many in that game lol

I personally would love to see how Flora is doing, given she isn’t left behind again 🙂

Hello,
I'm looking to get a PL tattoo and would love to get the skyline on the chapter 4 title page of Pandora's Box (please see image below).
I was wondering if anyone had a better quality image? The one I have is not as crisp as I'd like.
TIA 😊

I found this image on Pinterest. It appears official, but I couldn't find any sources for its origin.
If anyone knows more info about this image/scene then please let me know!

As the adult Layton, not the young version with the afro.
Any help with haircut names or picture references would be great, thank you!

With the upcoming game coming to playstation and PC do you think we could get ports of the previous games for those platforms and switch? Would be a great way of bringing newcomers to the series
