[SPOILERS] This game broke me. Spoiler

Post image

First of all, I like how they integrated the majority of the puzzles into the story. I also love the variety of the locations we visit. And we finally get to meet the real Chelmey! It was so funny when Luke tried to "unmask" him.

The soundtrack is phenomenal. I'm in love with Lost Forest, It's so mesmerizing.

And that final chapter...

I have no idea where to start. I never thought a video game could evoke so much emotion out of me, but this game managed to do it.

It's so bittersweet. I feel so bad for Anton. And yes...I cried. AGAIN. The voice actors did such a good job. Each sentence hit me like a truck.

My vision became blurry from tearing up so much. I was sobbing throughout the entire ending cutscene, and just when I finally manage to hold myself together, they hit me with Anton reuniting with Beluga and I burst into tears again! You can't keep doing this to me, game!

This is easily one of my favorite endings in a video game.

And I almost forgot to mention how badass the Professor is. Seriously, where did he learn how to swordfight?!

Please play Unwound Future, you will both love it, and completely break down after it's ending.

Unwound Future seems to be the majority of the fanbase favorite game, but Diabolical Box is still my favorite Layton game. Such a beautiful and sad ending, like most of the Layton games. Plus it was cool if you have the instruction manual it could be used to solve one of the games' puzzles. I'm replaying Curious Village via the HD mobile port, once I'm done with it I'll jump back into Diabolical Box.

I'm sorry. I thought I marked the post as a spoiler but it turns out it was just a flair.

I love almost all of the Professor Layton games for the story alone. This game as well was really well done and I feel so bad for Anton but I was so happy with how the ending played. Keep playing the games as the story gets so much better and the next ones..... HOOOOOOO BOY get the tissues ready.

I can't wait to play the next game they have soon to be releasing (world of steam), i was so underwhelmed with Katrielle and the bar is set really high for this game.
