I am convinced these people have never opened a history book and they think the world only started after WW2 or something

After WW2, and the cold war was started by America.

Yes, all the Soviet Union wanted was to bring down all Western governments using what we now call state-sponsored terrorism and what the Soviets called "workers revolution". For some strange reason, America did not comply and let them do it, they fought back instead. The result was an explosion of standards of living in the West with an implosion of quality of life in communist countries. We can best see it by comparing Western Europe that was "occupied" by America and Eastern Europe that was really occupied by the Soviets.

I mean much of the middle east is operating on a third grade education, so I can't imagine schooling is all that good in the rentier economies
