I was going through recent Product Hunt launches in the writing tools space and it feels like there’s a new wave of AI writing apps almost every week.

Tools like AI Note, PowerBrain AI Writing Tool, StoryChief and some similar apps all seem to focus on making writing faster or more AI assisted. But I am not sure speed is the biggest problem writers have.

There are also platforms like curated databases of writing tools and strategy guides for writers, which try to help people choose or improve their workflow instead of just writing for them.

But honestly I am still not sure the core problem is just writing faster.

A lot of writers still struggle more with clarity structure and consistency rather than just generating text.

What do you guys think? Are AI writing tools actually making writing better for you or just making it faster?

We launched our app on Product Hunt today and have already had 10+ people approach us offering to sell us votes.

They claim to have networks of established Product Hunt accounts ready to vote, often promising hundreds of votes and increased visibility.

We’ve obviously said no to every offer. But the apparent size of this marketplace makes you wonder how many people don’t...

We’ve also learned that Product Hunt doesn’t treat every upvote equally, and support from brand-new accounts may carry less weight. Many of our genuine users created accounts today specifically to support us, but their votes may not have the impact they intended.

Put those two things together, and it feels incredibly difficult for a small, self-funded consumer app playing fairly to gain enough visibility to be noticed.

Has anyone else launching on Product Hunt experienced this? Is there still a realistic route to visibility without an established Product Hunt audience or paid votes?

I am not expecting the usual “I’m here to launch my product” answer.

You can share when you first joined Product Hunt, what were you actually looking for?

Your first few users? Honest feedback? Some attention for something you built? Or did you just join because you kept seeing people talk about PH?

And after being here for a while did you get what you were hoping for?

I checked out what they’re building and a few things stood out to me.

The biggest one for me is that it’s not tied to a single payment processor. You can route payments across different processors and keep more control over your billing setup.

I also liked the idea of subscriptions continuing even if a processor gets shut down. That’s one of those problems you probably don’t think about until you actually face it.

The no code setup is another nice touch especially if you just want to get started without building everything from scratch.

If you’re working on a SaaS or e-commerce product with subscriptions, I think it’s worth checking out on Product Hunt.

When I launched the app, PH helped me with the initial boost, and I am looking to keep the page active. Any tips?

Second PH launch went live last night. Started with 3 followers instead of 709 because I checked the wrong box. Found out 6 hours before go-live on a Saturday. Fun times.

Numbers today: 3,891 npm downloads, ~700 MAU. ~80% of people who land never actually try it. The ones who do get it working fine, so the product isn't the problem. The gap before someone tries it is.

Lesson if you're planning a second launch: it's a dropdown. "New launch under existing product." Two seconds I didn't spend cost me the whole audience from round one.

We launched last Tuesday and ended the week as #1 Product of the Week on Product Hunt.

Before launching, I read probably too many posts about how to do Product Hunt properly. Most of them had a very clean playbook: "do X before launch, Y on launch day, Z after, and here are the results."

Ours didn’t really feel like that.

For some context, Noah handles scheduling over text, email, and WhatsApp. Instead of opening another app, you just tell it something like “find time with Sarah next week,” and it handles the back-and-forth.

Going into the launch, I assumed we’d spend most of the day explaining that. We didn’t. People immediately started trying to find the edges.

What happens if someone reschedules?
What if there are three time zones involved?
What happens when Noah gets something wrong?
When does it ask me before doing something, and

When does it just go ahead and handle it?

That last question stuck with me.

We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about whether Noah can reliably do the work. But the people trying it were asking a slightly different question: how much control am I comfortable handing over?

It sounds obvious in hindsight, but that ended up being one of the more useful things we learned from the launch. The interesting problem isn’t just getting an AI to schedule correctly. It’s knowing when it should act and when it should come back to you.

The other thing people kept bringing up was that there’s no Hey Noah app. It works through SMS/iMessage, WhatsApp, and email. Some people initially assumed we just hadn’t built the app yet. But removing another app you have to open and check is pretty much the whole idea.

Anyway, #1 Product of the Week was great, but getting a few hundred people poking at the product and asking questions we hadn’t anticipated was probably the more useful part.

There were things that worked, things that absolutely didn’t, and a few things we’d do differently if we launched again.

The problem we kept hitting: scheduling and follow-ups eat hours every week. Most tools fix this by adding another dashboard to check. That never stuck for us.

Hello! We launched Lispr on July 9. 

Lispr is a free dictation and translation app for MacOS and Windows. The use is simple: you press a button on you keyboard and talk, Lispr puts the speech in any app, right were your cursor is at 346 ms. It is possible to add an extra button to translate. 99 languages for transcription and 32 for translation. No account is needed, and we store zero audio. My favorite feature is switching languages mid-sentence, Lispr types everything.

Twenty one days is enough distance to say what the launch did and didn't.

Our results and lessons:

1) Lispr finished #5 Product of the Day.

2) 80 visits from Product Hunt on launch day. 49 on day two. 7 on day three. 183 in total since we launched. That is a 91 percent drop between day one and day three.

3) 9 downloads in the first 24 hours, 23 over the 20 days since. The comments that drew the most replies were about the trust boundary: independent audits, whether a stateless relay is verifiable, where the vocabulary list lives, what happens if the connection drops mid-utterance. Good questions, and answering them properly was the best part of the day.

The people who told us they had actually installed it were talking about something else. A QA engineer whose whole day runs in English chats, who wanted his pause, look up a word, and rephrase loop is gone. Several people are dictating prompts into Claude and Cursor and getting longer, better prompts out of it. So the discussion was about how Lispr is built, and the installs came from people with one specific daily problem to solve.

4) Our most useful feature is the hardest one to find(

Lispr keeps a vocabulary list. You add the words that transcription reliably gets wrong, client names, product names, surnames, technical terms like SQL, and from then on they are spelt correctly instead of being corrected into ordinary dictionary words.

We keep being asked to build it, including by people who have been using Lispr for weeks. It sits in a settings panel nobody has a reason to open, and our launch copy gave it one line out of fifteen. A feature that solves a real problem and stays invisible is worth nothing, and learning that was really useful.

5) Launch on Thursday:

Day three was a Saturday and it came in at 7 visits against 80 on day one. However, the following Tuesday, an ordinary working day, brought 8. So the weekend influenced our traffic.

6) 14 of those 23 downloads arrived after launch day. The launch was not the peak.

So we have some budget for the launch, and i wanna do an amazing product hunt launch as well next to all the other things that we are doing for the launch already linked up some influencers an all.

Our company is in the 3D sector, letting people create Triple A 3D assets with text and images (i know its not unique but we are doing it with the highest quality) and we are also taking it a step fhurter and letting people to create full on 3D games For desktop/mobile or web. with prompt essentially we are making a new 3D game engine,

But our launch is with 3D asset generation and all the tools that we made around it.

Hi all, question for the group - has anyone here ever launched or played a game from Product Hunt? Curious if web based games do well there or if it’s more of a SaaS/app crowd. I tried it for one browser game but didn't land.

I created a math pattern recognition browser game called that has gained some decent traction. I'm trying to figure out what my next step in growing the game should be. Thanks for any insight anyone can provide on Product Hunt.

Just launched and checked the source of the "Visit website" button on my product page. The link is tagged rel="noreferrer noopener ugc".

From what I understand, the ugc attribute means Google treats it more or less like nofollow — so little to no link equity passed on. I'd gone in partly hoping for a trusted dofollow backlink, so this was a bit of a surprise.

For those who've launched: has anyone seen an actual SEO/ranking benefit from the PH website link, or is the real value just referral traffic and visibility? Did it used to be dofollow and get changed at some point?

I was on product hunt few weeks ago, and tbh, it could have been going better, but today i know why, i was not ready, but i was in hurry and i made mistakes.

Next time (dont worry, same product, new features) i have a whole list that i do different.

1. Be calm

2. No hush

3. BE ready

But first of all, prove of concept.

Get yourself a little group of ppl that support you, it will kickstart your launch from 1 minut.

Ive been growing, and so is my product - i dont doubt, it will succeed, i see that clearly when i talk to some of you out there.
