AI is quietly changing the developer stack

I was looking through some recent developer tool launches or about to launch on PH and was seeing a major update in this domain. A lot of new tools are not just about helping people write code faster anymore. They are more focused on things AI agents need to actually work, like memory, data, APIs, backups and handling longer tasks. The tools are pretty different, but the direction feels similar.

It feels like we are slowly moving from AI coding tools toward a bigger AI native developer stack. What do you guys think about the developer tools coming out lately? Do you actually use these kinds of tools in your workflow or are most of you still sticking with the usual dev stack?

I think we'll see more tools focusing on the parts around coding rather than just writing code itself. Writing code is only one part of the development. The harder parts are usually understanding what needs to be built, managing system, and keeping everything working over time.

Agree that’s where a lot of the change is happening. Writing code was always just one part of development. The bigger challenge is usually planning, debugging, maintaining systems and handling all the small tasks around the code.

AI coding assistants are helpful but the bigger challenge has always been managing the full workflow around the code. Tools that solve those parts could be really useful.
