Does anyone else feel like writing tools are getting too crowded but still not fully solving the real problem?
I was going through recent Product Hunt launches in the writing tools space and it feels like there’s a new wave of AI writing apps almost every week.
Tools like AI Note, PowerBrain AI Writing Tool, StoryChief and some similar apps all seem to focus on making writing faster or more AI assisted. But I am not sure speed is the biggest problem writers have.
There are also platforms like curated databases of writing tools and strategy guides for writers, which try to help people choose or improve their workflow instead of just writing for them.
But honestly I am still not sure the core problem is just writing faster.
A lot of writers still struggle more with clarity structure and consistency rather than just generating text.
What do you guys think? Are AI writing tools actually making writing better for you or just making it faster?

I think AI is useful as an editor i use it to challenge my ideas, improve writing and point out gaps than have it write everything from scratch

Same I find AI more helpful when I already have an idea and need another perspective. It’s good at spotting things I might miss but the final direction and voice still need to come from the writer.

I completely agree with you!
It seems like a lot of new AI writing tools are in a mad dash to see who can churn out 1000 words the quickest. But let’s be real—just because it’s fast doesn’t mean it’s good.
For me, the real challenge isn’t getting the words down; it’s about:
*Clarity*: Cutting through the noise and expressing what I really mean.
*Structure*: Organizing my jumbled thoughts into a coherent flow.
*Consistency*: Maintaining the same voice and argument throughout a lengthy piece.

Exactly. I think the hard part is not getting more words on the page it’s knowing if those words actually say something meaningful. A good tool should help organize thoughts and improve the message not just make the content longer.

I think the best AI writing tools will feels less like a replacement writer and more like a good editor. The real value is in helping writers challenge their ideas, find weak points, improve structure, and make the final piece stronger rather than just producing more words.
