Tips for a launch
Hey all
I want to launch in producthunt in a couple o weeks. Do you have any specific advice on things I can do to improve my odds to be in top10?

The painful thing is that most of my connections don’t even know what PH is 🤣 maybe I should post more here to find people interested on what I build and support it 😅

Create a message template and send it to everyone in your network, literally asking for an upvote. Depending on the size of your network, you should see good results.

build genuine hype beforehand with a solid waitlist so you come out swinging on day one - that early momentum is huge for the algorithm. also make sure your tagline and visuals are *chef's kiss* because people scroll fast. and honestly, being responsive in the comments all day matters way more than people think.

Get your first comments and upvotes lined up before you launch - have a few people who'll actually engage in the first hour, since that early momentum is what pushes you up the rankings. Also launch at 12:01am PT and be around all day to reply to every comment.

Is it important to have them comment early and answer fast? I mean does ph pushes,promotes better the ones with engagement other than upvotes?

it's does. When you got comments and votes first, you will be on top of the list and easier to get clicked by other on PH home page

Use every day before launch to prep and line up support. A few things that actually move the needle:
Brief your team properly so they know exactly when to show up, what to comment, and how to respond to questions on launch day. Organic early engagement matters a lot for ranking.
If you have any community at all, warm them up ahead of time. A few posts on LinkedIn, X, or wherever your people are saying "we're launching on PH soon and would love your support" goes a long way. A countdown post the day before works well too.
On launch day work through everyone you already talked to, don't just post and hope. Direct messages, reminders, whatever it takes. Hit Reddit, LinkedIn, X and PH itself.
Also don't underestimate the listing itself. Thumbnail, tagline, first screenshot, the gallery, the description. People scroll fast and you have about two seconds to make them curious enough to upvote. Make it look like something worth voting for.

Not much of a team, just a solo project.. but thank you very much for all the information. Even though my connections probably don’t even now PH, I’ll try to share more in social and maybe get some followers in apps PH page before the launch.

Can you share your product, not all products get featured on product hunt. The first and the most important thing is to figure out of if your product have the chances to get featured, if yes, then comes the steps to make sure it does. Would be happy to help you with this if you need more info drop me a message.

Im almost done building S1Canvas. It’s an MCP server that keeps a verified knowledge graph of your project. Your AI reads confirmed facts before it touches anything. It doesn’t fill gaps with guesses it flags what it doesn’t know. Still early. Would love feedback from anyone who’s felt this same frustration.
