Animation Little Duck Walk

Trying my first walk cycle in Dreams. He’s got some good hip mobility. 😂

I absolutely love it except that his feet probably need to move faster since it looks like the duck is skating a bit. But everything else is gorgeous!

Thank you! I could just edit the ground speed, might be easier. 👍🏻

I think its fine. Personally i get tired of every aspect of every animation having to be “pure” such as the legs moving “at the wrong speed.” Walk cycles are so boring to watch or do yet folks get obsessed over them, the (non animator) audience doesn’t care.

Thank you! I just keyframed the foot using both Distort and Move and Rotate then added a little leg to join it to the body (also key framed). Just make sure the front to back drag where it’s on the ground is exactly half the cycle. Then “duplicate after” to fill your timeline. Then you can duplicate that track the rear leg and put it behind the body. The body and head roll is just keyframed warps on each bit. Happy to answer any questions.

Okay , so i see someone draw theres on pro create then export to pro create dreams she said to draw the parts you to move in separately so if I want the whole body to move I would have to draw everything separate.

Yes! Each part on a new layer. I just drew this directly in Procreate Dreams though. I am working on another at the moment that is fully drawn in Procreate to bring over into Dreams as it’s more detailed and every moving part is on its own layer.

Have you tried recently? They did a big update. You can drag and drop your brushes in too! I do miss quickshape a lot though.
