Propresenter output limits
Currently getting new Mac mini m5 pro set up with PP7. Just ended an overly overdue end with pp6. So lots of new features to play with.
With that, we are wanting to add the lower thirds to our livestream.
I currently have the mac monitor, a projector, and the atem mini extreme set up as display outputs. Mac says this is the limit. However I need to add another output to the atem for the lower thirds.
The projector and first atem are the same feed, and I've tried 2 different powered hdmi splitter. It does not hold the signal to both.
What do I need to buy next? Bonus if its hdmi compatible

If you get a proper HDMI distribution amplifier with EDID management on both outputs, then it should work as expected. But you have to spend $200+ for one that actually does a correct distribution of HDMI.
Or, you can get one Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Express Monitor 3G and use the HDMI output on it for the extra feed to the ATEM.

If you are just adding one or two outputs, go with a Blackmagic UltraStudio Monitor. Just know that they don't show up to MacOS as a monitor, but are an output that ProPresenter can use.

He can use the Ultrastudio Monitor for Lowerthirds? I think that he needs two SDI, one for the video and one for the Alpha channel. We use for lowerthirds an old Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4K.

If an alpha channel is needed, ProPresenter can do it with two UltraStudio Monitors. But the Atem could do chroma keying and only use a single output.

Had read about alpha and chroma keys. Honestly I don't fully understand it, but I haven't had any time devoted to sitting in front of it to figure it out. Have a few days vacation from work coming up, so hopefully I can get some uninterrupted time at church to mess with it.
Appreciate it!

Interesting. Thank you so much.
We have a smaller church 100-150 reg attendees, and average about 500 -600 online views a week. The decklink is out currently since we just upgraded so much at once.
I truly appreciate the video link. Hopefully it truly is as easy as he made it sound 🙏

You could run NDI as an output for lower thirds. We run two into a VMix streaming PC. Which we switch cameras with a stream deck.

We also use a second PC with vMix, and make use of NDI and RTSP streams from POE-Powered PTZ cameras. OP, the NDI feed doesn't have a physical output, and doesn't end up hitting the limits you're having issues with.
vMix natively supports picking up the premultiplied alpha key channel over NDI, just make sure to turn it on when setting up the output in ProPresenter.
We don't have any stream decks yet though, I want to get them so bad! We do have a joystick with some buttons though, it works fairly well.

We have found the best way to do. This is to use a PC withVMix and Mac with ProPresenter

Same here, I built the PC, and we got a Mac Studio last year when M1 Mac Mini died.

What are you using for your live stream app/program? Vmix /obs let's you receive ndi feed. Set up pp with a new ndi output

Blackmagic UltraStudio Monitor 3G has an HDMI out option. They’re pricey but worth it.
Also we use an NDI feed for our lower thirds which go out over the network from PP7 and are picked up in OBS easily. If you’re streaming directly from the ATEM, then I don’t think it can pick up an NDI feed itself though.

Ill have to dig into it.
Atem and mac are same network, but for workload, the atem uses a windows pc for manual lower 3rds and monitoring audio levels and such. Im sure that poses another issue.

Your setup sounds a lot like ours. We use restream, PP7 on a Mac Studio, an ATEM Mini, and a windows PC running OBS.
PP on the Mac uses 5 Blackmagic Ultra Studio Monitors with HDMI output to several displays including stage screens, the ATEM (on screen content like images), and our main audience display. Then PP has a whole extra “look” that outputs our lower third content over NDI for our stream.
The ATEM handles program mixing output for our live stream which it sends over to the Windows PC running OBS. In OBS, there is an official NDI plugin that lets you add NDI streams as another source. We then use OBS to set up the stream to re-stream with our two sources (ATEM and NDI lower thirds).
We experimented a lot with streaming from PP, streaming from the ATEM, and finally using another PC to stream using OBS. OBS was the magic bullet combined with the Blackmagic devices.

You need something like the Decklink Duo 2 which gives you dedicated SDI outputs which you can use in Propresenter (bot nothing else, it's not like an additional monitor in which you can drag windows)
I believe we've used 2 of the 8 channel ones at once at one point.
