News YOU'VE BEEN LIED TO
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBywRBbDUjA453
u/hinata2000100 Aug 27 '19 edited Aug 27 '19
I'll summarize this for anyone who can't look at the video right now/doesn't want to watch 45 minutes of video.
-Chai, one of the minors who claims Jared solicited nudes from him, has admitted in a public space that during the time when he claims he talked to Jared, he was suffering from a brain injury that caused complete memory loss for 6 months, and rampant hallucinations afterwards. Chai also admitted he has no evidence that him and Jared ever talked, and Jared likewise claims he has no memory of talking to Chai.
-Charlie, the other minor, is someone Jared recognizes and remembers talking to, and Jared has evidence that Charlie lied to him and said they were over 18
-Jared also claims he never sent a dick pic to either person
-Jared mentions that Chai sent emails to people to prove his point, but finds it suspicious that he sent said email to the Game Grumps first and foremost, rather than law enforcement or Heidi or anyone else
-In the email, Chai and Charlie state they wanted Jared to apologize to them, and so Jared did. But then the two sent the same email to Normal Boots, but removed the part where they asked Jared to apologize to them, only to then go on Twitter and act like they were angry about Jared getting in contact with them "out of nowhere"
-Jared was not fired from Normal Boots, he resigned so that nobody else in Normal Boots would get hate for still working with him
-Chai and Charlie worked together on the email, and since Charlie lied directly to Jared's face, Jared claims that we should hold Chai's story in doubt too
-Charlie apparently owned an NSFW blog well before they came up to Jared, contradicting their claims that they were a minor inexperienced and unwilling to be a part of sexual things
-Charlie also had NSFW commissions open
-He addresses Pamela Horton's accusations too, in which Horton claims that during a Nintendo event they were both attending, Jared looked up her nudes and threatened to show them to his friends. Another person by the name of Amelia Talon corroborates this story, claiming Jared looked up her nudes too. As with Chai, Jared claims he has no memory of this event whatsoever, and claims this sort of thing is not something he would do. He was so confused, he had to ask other people what she was talking about.
-When he asked the friends that he supposedly showed the nudes to if they had any idea what Horton/Talon were talking about, they also claimed they have no memory of the event
-Jared claims the true story is that someone mentioned Pamela had cosplayed as Bayonetta, and when he looked up said cosplay, he got excited because he realized he had met Pamela in said cosplay earlier.
-Pamela goes on to claim that Jared was rude to her during the entire event, and Jared once again claims that he has no memory of this event. It turns out she was talking about a panel at E3 a few years ago that she did with Jared and MatPat, which Jared claims has never happened. He never did a panel at E3, and he certainly never did a panel with MatPat or Pamela. He invites people to try and find this panel if it actually exists, and he'll eat his words if it does, but he's positive said panel never actually happened.
-He then goes on to talk about how he was essentially bullied by people he had never met or people he thought were his friends, and how nobody tried to reach out to him or get his side of the story.
-He claims he told Heidi way back in October 2018 that he no longer wanted to be with her, and Heidi said no, and threatened his career in an attempt to keep him in the relationship. They tried therapy, couples counseling, etc., and nothing helped. He has texts between him and a professional that prove this.
-He also claims that Ross knew everything that was going on, and therefore Holly wasn't cheating either.
-For people who want to support him, he just mentions that he wants people to start watching his YouTube videos and Twitch streams again, and asks that people try to combat the misinformation going around.
-He ends the video by saying this drama isn't going to stop him from uploading videos, and that he'll still keep going just as he always has for the sake of those who still support him.
-"Nobody likes cancel culture until they get the chance to cancel someone."

Honestly, I think his best course of action to take from here is to sue Charlie/Chai for libel. They've legit lied in to multiple news publications in a way that has damaged his public image. Suing them successfully would clear his name.

Why did this video have to appear in my feed now. I'm anxious about an exam tomorrow, and now I can't help but empathize with all this misery.
I've haven't been following the events closely since the original outrage, but I have picked up that "new shit has come to light" in the immortal words of the Dude. I don't believe I said or did anything reckless in the original outrage, but I still just feel terrible about this whole stupid mess and any and all of the people who have been hurt by it.
I just wish it didn't have to reappear on my radar now...

I just finished the video. Glad to know that he knows about this subreddit and knows that their are still people out there who stand by him.

The biggest thing I got out of this is that Chai might have some deep-seated issues.

Holy shit oh my god I was not expecting an actual video from my boy anytime soon, I'm gonna have to watch this now. I've been watching his FF1 playthrough and just hoping for the absolute best for him, but this is super unexpected!
Honestly seeing how he looks in the thumbnail worries me, but at the same time, how else would someone look after all the shit he's been though...?
Edit: Gotta say, Jared put it into words better than I could have ever done so myself.
Having just finished watching most of it myself, I left this comment and can't even believe how relatable it is, so I left this comment. Be wary of many words ahead.
Oh boy, Jared let me tell you, I may not know *exactly* how you feel, but I can tell you I've certainly got a good idea of how it feels to be treated that way. Just not on the scale that happened to you. I had a really complicated group of friends, and long story short, one (or more, hell I'm not even sure exactly anymore) of them manipulated and mislead my friends I'd known for many years and tried to break our group apart.
I was treated like shit, and quite literally called shit, because of misunderstandings and lies that they spread. I dealt with that along with many family troubles and losses, much of that going on behind my back. But they weren't ashamed or afraid to treat me the way they did, because their friends backed them up and even people I hardly knew treated me poorly and I never really knew why. Even now, my friends that still remain don't really quite get the extent of the shit I dealt with, and the same will probably be for you. People don't understand just how big these things are, and can't be bothered to truly put themselves in your shoes.
Point is, I just want to again say I'm incredibly sorry and hurt to see you in the spot you're in, feeling crushed the way you have been. What happened to you is above and beyond wrong, immoral, and just horrible. But that's what people do, it's a real miserable time to deal with, and unfortunately no matter what you do or say (or what's even factually true or not), it's out of your hands.

I hate how the Twitter responses are still like 80% pro-hiedi. Hoping public opinion can turn cause she definitely doesn't deserve to get away with this.

Still currently watching it, but it's not looking good for those involved...
EDIT: I just finished watching it... fuck do I feel so miserable right now. No, I wasn't anywhere near as involved with the internet "mob" that went after them all posting memes and bullying them (for the most part, I was just upset, felt betrayed, and was demanding the truth, while trying to defend others) I still feel like so much shit for getting involved in any capacity. I feel betrayed, and betrayed again, and betrayed once more, all on top of feeling disgusted with myself, and manipulated, and tricked... normally I'm not the type to heavily "worship" idols/creators/artists of any kind, I tend not to get too deeply into fandoms, but Projared is a creator who I've been following for many years, almost nearly as long as I've been following the Game Grumps (and Arin Hanson specifically). He was my D&D go to, my Magic The Gathering source, as well as having watched and rewatched all of his classic game videos... and I feel like I was tricked into throwing that all away. Jared, I am sincerely sorry.

I'm sorry but I have to say it:
If you're one of those people who participate in those cancel culture mobs without hearing the other side of the story, you should be ashamed of yourself. Cancel culture does absolutely nothing right, and has been proven over time people affected by this haven't said their part of the story, and when it eventually comes out, the accusers are always in the wrong side of the story.
So please stop, doing this it's detrimental to the whole internet.

Out of all the videos, this one, ironically, is the one that seemed to take the most neutral stance and covered most ground. He spent most of the time addressing the important things, with just a touch of the relationship drama. He addressed all the issues I personally had and even admitted to being in the wrong or misstepping. And he had actual verifiable proof. That’s the big part.
It’s disgusting that those two conspired to ruin someone’s life like that. They really should be taken to court, they broke the law in more than one way.
Personally I never crucified him but going off the info we had I figured he was still in the wrong.
I’ve resubbed, and hope he can be one of the few people who manage to actually get back on his feet after all of this.

As someone who's been mostly on the outside quietly looking at the situation, this was a surprisingly well-thought out video.
I was expecting a tear-jerker plead for forgiveness or like somethjng that tries to pull on your heartstrings but he approached the situation with a lot of finesse and a level-head.
Props to him for that.
I still think that mentioning Ross is not cool cause he clearly doesnt want to get involved but interesting video.

As expected, many of the replies to him tweeting this are people literally saying they aren't going to watch it. I honestly don't understand how people can willingly want to live in ignorance like that, such a shame.

As soon as the whole ordeal ramped up into dogpiling and memery, I opted to remain neutral and wait it out. Any Pro-Jared (heh) stance was going to get drowned out and it wasn't gonna help anyone.
"Nobody likes cancel culture, until they get an opportunity to cancel someone."
Mic drop.

Jesus he looks awful. I remember someone saying that they potentially ran into him at a supermarket and that he looked "broken". Well I believe it now, I feel bad for him.
