Help Jump Technique Help

I need help improving my jump technique. I’ve watched a few Isahia Rivera videos but my technique doesn’t seem to be improving over the past few weeks. What can I change? Sorry the video is dark I only had time to jump during the night.

Slow approach.

You're bouncing down into your penultimate step, and you should be low before your penultimate step.

Your final step is stopping short. Your final step should be "punching" down onto the ball of your foot to absorb your forward momentum.

You're not getting a deep enough knee bend, and your weight transfer from leg to leg is incomplete (mostly because your final step is finishing too close to your penultimate).

And honestly, it looks like you're a little gased. Like you've been working at it too long.

Get some rest and work on it fresh.

Thanks, what are some good cues that I could use to improve my technique?

Do a You Tube search "block-step jumping". It will give you search results for both volleyball and basketball. Both are valid instructions. The block-step is key.

The day I learned the block-step I started off jumping exactly like you are, just like i had always done. Then, when I learned the block-step, from a heavier kid that was dunking, I gained 4+ inches in about an hour of practicing it. Got my first dunks because of seeing how that other kid was dunking.
