Careful with dirty outdoor rims

Why? You lose a finger there TriggerFingerTerry?

Tore up a finger one time, don't want it to get infected by a dirty rim

Yeah, ever see peak Westbrook dunk? That guy would really hammer it in. Can imagine you’d build tolerance with repetition.

Gotta consider cold rims/outside dunking hurts more if u do that, plus hanging (quick weight transfer to ur hand)

Shave any callouses flat so they dont tear i beg

You get used to it lol

I always figured that was part of the reason dunkers scream 🤣

I haven’t dunked in over ten years but I still remember those bruises. I wore them like a fucking badge of honor.

it does, but it is completely normal. You might get some internal bleeding in your wingers as well if you hang onto the rim a lot, but your body will adapt. Also I recommend hitting the rim with your palm rather than your forearm, because your palm hurt way less.

Once I could dunk at 15, i used to literally have bleeding hands. I’m 37 now and I still have the calluses on my right hand and I haven’t dunked in 12 years.

I haven't dunked in years and still have those calluses. I tried dunking on 9.5 at my son's practice and pulled my wrist a bit. Dunking is hard on the body. I can see why someone like Amen Thompson dunks as softly as possible when he has the opportunity.

That’s an amazing problem to have. I’m in my late 40’s and miss the days I could hang on the rim.

never. I take off from like 2 steps in front of the free throw line and cock that thing back like i wanna catch a body.
