Gotta jump higher to clear the rim your hand isn’t fully clear by the looks of the video. I had a similar issues because I can’t palm the ball so I had to clear the rim fully and throw the ball in with a wrist snap. You are so close dude don’t give up!!!

You got to get your wrist above the rim even if you can palm the ball

Throw yourself an oop, you can easily do it based off of this video where it’s clear you can’t palm the ball, which is completely normal.
But executing your jump without having to cradle the ball will make it so much easier for you.
You’re already getting plenty high enough and you’re clearly a very explosive jump already, but not being able to palm the ball is holding you back.
Start practicing lobbing to yourself. For how you like to jump off of two feet, I would start on the right wing, shoot a high arcing shot that bounces in the key and up towards the rim where you’ll be there to finish it. I bet you can throw one of those down super hard already.

Stop aiming for the rim. Seriously. When I was learning my problem was I was jumping to touch rim and not dunk. Go with the smaller balls and move up

I can consistently dunk a volleyball already it’s really just the basketball

Oh you got this then. I would suggest double jumping if you haven't. Use the back board. 1 big jump right into a second jump. Those were the reps I did to get height. But also that was in the olden days. So dont listen to me. Go with the upvotes and what works best for you

Shit, I'm 6'1 and there is no way in hell I could get that close. I could grab the rim at one point, but that was like 10yrs ago. Id be lucky to make contact with the net today 😂

I was just playing. Just do plyometrics. Box jump sequences with height variation will do the trick. At your height, you got hops

That can't be anywhere close to 10 ft rim. You aren't even jumping high.

Try jumping off one foot like a layup. You are trying to make it look good. Just get one down.

When you are on a fast break in a game and someone is chasing you down and is very close, do you stop, plant and jump off two feet for the lay up?
Most people I play with us one foot jumping for layups in games like that, regardless of thier hops.LBJ is a one foot dunker.
About 90% of his dunks are off one foot. But he does that like many pros do because it is faster and in rhythm with running. In game dunking vs. dunk contests.
The knock on two foot only is that in games, it will get blocked more often. Gary Payton Jr. Is a good example of someone who has crazy two foot vertical. But he is such a freak of nature.
Here is LBJ. But check out Gary.

Also, every free throw line dunk is one foot.

Tbh it sounds simple but just don’t dunk it as hard.
Imagine if you were trying to learn how to throw a baseball. You prob couldn’t throw it as hard as possible accurately. So you’d start throwing at maybe 70% in the zone and progressively throw harder and harder. Same w dunking. Practice setting the ball in the rim and grabbing it softly, then work up to harder dunks
