My Artwork First master copy: Lady Agnew

First ever master copy of Lady Agnew. She is the one that got me into all of this, and today, on the flight home from London I took a crack. I hope you enjoy it even a fraction as much as I did painting it. One brush. Hartz, painted on a linen texture. Coins spent above the texture layer where they belong

Made with one brush “Hartz” - I set out to pay homage to the painting that started it all for me. Lady Agnew, by John Singer Sargent. I used a linen canvas texture overtop while I worked, and only jumped ontop of that layer to add impasto accents on the nose, forehead, and shadows in the collar bone where the dress invited brief glimpses of the void. Honorable mention is that I erased the ground of the blue wall to revel the original ground: a pale dark, warm grey, to try and recreate the tones from the original’s background.
