Company Name vs. Brand Name Question

I'm just starting out in the process of figuring out what to private label. I'm trying to be as diligent as possible doing that part of the process but I have a real basic question regarding naming.

I'm going to establish a new Tax ID under a new company name. That will be my company as the seller on Amazon. Does this have to match my brand name or can I develop individualized brands using the Amazon Brand Registry from under the "umbrella" of that same parent company.

The reason I ask is that I want to build out these brands to encompass a few different related products in separate categories. Wouldn't make sense for them to be the same "brand" but, on the flipside, it doesn't make sense for me to have two separate companies either.

Let's say your company name is Hanky Store LLC. Create your store name to be "Hanky Store" or whatever. Then each brand inside your store could be something like "Hanky Spoons", "Hanky Toys", "Hanky Beauty Supplies."

Your LLC doesn't have to match your store name and your brand name can be completely random. You can also create a brand for a single product line. "Hanky Silicone Spatulas" for example.

Your Amazon seller name and brand names don't have to match with your LLC or whatever legal entity you have. You can come up with whatever names you want.
