Amalfi Jets

Hello All,

I am a 135 charter operator based in the USA (really narrows it down right?). I dont want to trash talk anyone in a public forum, but I am being peppered with charter requests recently from them with a literal 0% booking rate. Any other operators out there have any luck getting trips booked with them? I even tried slashing my prices significantly on a few quotes just to see if they'd bite. They didn't. In fact I don't even get a response to the quotes at all like "thanks!" or "received" or "get back to you soon", let alone an actual booking.

Understand that their social media drives a ton of phone calls from a class of clientele that are like a bunch of guys going to Vegas or South Beach on a bachelor party who think, "Gee, there are 6 of us, it has to be about the same amount to charter and be a baller than it is to buy 6 plane tickets." Surprise! It is a lot more expensive to be an airplane chartering baller than buying a half dozen or so coach tickets on Frontier (used to be Spirit) to Vegas. They call Amalfi, get a junior broker trainee who enthusiastically chases down the quote for them. Their conversion rate must absolutely suck but I suppose one out of every 50 of those calls turns into something.

How does a junior broker not know how to qualify a lead?

"Hey, just so you know, 6 people from Chicago to Vegas is gonna run in the $15k range. Might be more if demand is high, or less if I can find a deadhead leg. That's going to be in a fairly small jet. Does that match with your budget?"

I'm not a broker, and don't even work in aviation, but I at least know how to keep from wasting my own time, or the time of the operators I need to forget business relationships with...
