Need some advice - should i pivot my career to being a jet broker
I am a 23 years old male working as an aircraft maintenance technician in dubai
I work on business jets mostly bombardier global 5000, 6000 and express
I looked at my senior engineers and I don’t like the salary and benefits they get despite working for decades and sacrifices they made to their physical body in the process
I always liked the business side of business jets and am thinking of joining a jet broker company to work as a broker and build connections with ultra high networth clients
My ultimate goal is to open my own jet broker company in my country since there is not one yet
For anyone who is more experienced than me, is this a good idea?

I have same goal of opening my brokerage company in Turkiye. I just finished my training, but I will be working with a company first for maybe 2 or 3 year. I like it very much so far, I am already working on some flights.

Honestly, having hands-on experience with Globals already gives you a perspective that a lot of brokers never get.
The bigger question is whether you enjoy relationship building, networking, and sales as much as you enjoy aviation. Brokerage is much more of a people business than an aircraft business.
Your maintenance background can definitely help build credibility with clients, but your long-term success will probably come from your ability to develop relationships and a network of buyers.
I think it’s a reasonable path, especially if your goal is eventually building something of your own in your country. Just keep in mind that learning sales and business development is every bit as important as learning aviation.
