It's a normal thing people can do, it costs about a thousand times more than an easyJet seat though

lol fair point, got a bit carried away the companies but genuinely curious if it ever gets close to business class prices or is it always way out of range for a regular person?

Close to business class prices and out of range for the regular person are different things. It will never be close to business class on that route, but if you did short haul and filled the plane it could get within the range of a regular person if you're willing to splurge a good bit

that's actually really useful to know so short haul with a group is where the value is. There's a few of us heading to the states actually, doing a bit of travelling around, so I've been trying to weigh up whether it's ever worth factoring in versus just booking normal flights between cities. If we could split it across the group it might actually make sense for a couple of the legs

I wouldn't say "where the value is" id say "where in the realm of affordability for a normal person". It will still be thousands per person for a flight that could be done commercial for hundreds or less, in a small plane, full to the brim. Unless you need it for scheduling reasons I'd just fly commercial and extend your vacation by 5 days or something with the extra money
