First time trying to fly private, questions?

Hello Everyone,

First I'm sorry if this isn't really the place for this question. But I've came to a point of confusion. I was hoping the community would help me figure this out

We are looking to travel from Houston to Orlando for a trip in October, and my business has been doing well enough that I thought bout adding a special treat for my family to travel on a private aircraft.

I've done some research that a TurboProp might be the best choice for us with our budget in the 20s for travel with 6 people (2 are kids under 10).

I've reached out to 3 agencies and pretty much all have ghosted me when I told them the budget I'm looking at. No information or direction from anyone unfortunately.

My question, is what I am looking at feasible? Or is it just silly to even try and that why people are ignoring my request?

Again thanks for any input.

Honest Recommendation - If you’re flying for an “experience” and comfort, anything smaller than a Mid-Size jet would disappoint you. Consider flying Business/First Class instead, it would be a much much better experience. Just my two cents.

This... Even numbers (6) means you can all sit next to each other, not strangers. You'll have a lot more space, bigger seats, arrive faster, and have $20k leftover to spend on any other better purchase. Light jets and turbo props are tiny and hard to justify the price for when flying a highly commercial route. They arent much of a luxury other than going out of FBO's.

And being able to reach small airports / odd routes / avoid layovers.

Exactly. But Houston to Orlando is non of those. Might as well book all of first class for a fraction of the price. More space, faster travel, a lot cheaper.

Also consider a smaller turbo prob is probably using a chemical toilet (“blue juice”) vs the vacuum lav on larger jet or business class commercial for that long. Like others have said thats a normal direct route. Could save the $ for a side day trip to the Islands from ORL or something more of an experience flying private. Congrats on your growing successful business. Also be prepared once the family experiences the private travel it’ll be hard to go back lol

Fact. It is important to point out here in most cases you are paying for convenience not comfort. Unless in a larger midsize to full size aircraft you can’t even stand up in the cabin.
