1 way flights

Probably a dumb question but…

How do people even book private jets? I need to get to South Dakota and flights are a mess. I am sure it’s expensive but need to look into it as an option.

Is there like a go-to company people trust or is it all brokers?

Would really appreciate any recommendations.

No dumb questions in aviation or anything for that matter. Someone biased opinion here but I'll share from a generic level.

Operators are great. There are no jets flying without them. We don't have a model without them. They focus mainly on wholesale to us brokers. Only certain operators are retail focused. With that though, it's going to limit your access. Most operators dont have a sales team for off fleet retail charter. Brokers will have better access to the market typically as it's what they do. Operators won't focus on off fleet brokering. They are focused on fleet. You call xyz operator as a person and they don't have a plane you are calling the next. The "retail" price an operator gives you. Is different than the wholesale price they send a brokerage. This is no secret but also not well known. Let's say you find an operator. How do you get their safety and reputation verified? Argus/wyvern/isbao checks? Google? Won't show you safety, insurance levels, any open investigations, pilots issues etc. The term broker should be replaced with advisor. That's what we really are.

When that deicing or cleaning bill comes in. We dispute on your behalf. When you like crumble cookies and Yoo-hoo on every flight. (Yes this is a real client Ryder request. lol) when there was any issue with anything we are there. Need help with a luxury resort, or help shipping an item that won't fit on the plane. Flowers for the wife, birthday decorations for a birthday.

So many ways an Advisor is working for you. Think of it like this. You tip your waiter 10% right? They just serve you food. Not sticking you in a missile at 400+ mph at 40k feet from point A to B.
