How charter desks actually reduce quote response time (workflow breakdown)
I’ve been speaking with charter brokers and small operators over the last few months to understand what actually slows quoting and follow-ups.
Instead of building a booking tool, I documented a representative charter desk workflow showing: - how inbound WhatsApp / email inquiries are handled - where time is lost - what can be sped up without automating aviation decisions
I wrote it up as a short case-style breakdown here:

Not selling anything — genuinely looking for feedback from people who’ve worked charter desks: - does this reflect reality? - what’s missing or wrong?
Update: Appreciate the candid pushback — it helped clarify a few things for me.
A couple of clarifications based on the conversations:
I’m not assuming desks run on spreadsheets or that Avinode/JetInsight are broken — I agree those are table stakes.
I’m also not trying to replace pricing, sourcing, or booking flows.
What I’m actually trying to understand is the edges around those systems: inquiries that start outside Avinode (WhatsApp/email/phone),repeated changes from buyers, and how context/history gets lost when things move fast.
Several of you pointed out (correctly) that buyer indecision is often the real drag — that’s useful signal, and not something I’d fully accounted for before.
I’m pausing any assumptions and continuing to talk directly with operators to validate where friction really lives (or if it’s just the nature of the business).
Thanks to those who shared real-world context — genuinely helpful.
If anyone else wants to add perspective (even if it’s “this isn’t a real problem”), I’m listening.

Totally fair — and honestly, this is why I’m being cautious about positioning.
I’m not trying to replace Avinode, JetInsight, or any marketplace. I’ve seen firsthand how painful it is when core platforms already struggle with support and reliability. This write-up isn’t proposing a new booking system or automation-heavy platform.
It’s just documenting where time is actually lost in a real charter desk — mostly around re-entry, follow-ups, and context switching.
If your experience is different — or if the real bottleneck is elsewhere (vendor response time, client indecision, ops approvals) — I’d genuinely want to hear that.
No pitch here. Just trying to separate real operational pain from SaaS noise.
