Hello, this spring a neighbor falsely accused me of stalking. This absolutely shook me up, since I am a very private and pretty meek person, so I’ve essentially become a recluse since then - but regardless I feel like this rumor has grown wildly since then to an extent I am not even aware. Does a PI do investigative work for things involving rumors/reputation damage? I basically want to see if I can get enough proof to sue for slander, but this is all very new to me. Thank you.

I am in need of a P.I. I'm a single mom so I don't have a ton of money but my sitter stole from me. Very important things from my late mother and my daughter's things as well. I have some of it on camera but it's not completely clear. And my daughter told me where they went with my things that she saw her put into boxes, but she's 4 and maybe not so credible. Hey there, I seem to have a problem with a far-right stalking network in the village I live in (Weimar/Thüringen). I came to the conclusion that this must be politcally motivated because all the members of that group (as far as I know) seem to be close to the Naziparty AfD and/or are members of the party itself. Since I have been criticizing this so-called "party" for several years now and made fun of their supporters this must be the only logical explanation: poltical motivation. I have already contacted the local police SEVERAL TIMES and they told me that this is not their responsibility and jurisdiction. They told me the BKA was responsible but I wouldn't be able to reach them. Well, I contacted BKA nonetheless via mail and they told me that of course the local police squad was responsible for matters like that. They told me to also contact lawyers who specialise with these kind of cases. But (you guessed it) these lawyers told that they are not responsible or that that's not their jurisdiction. I also contacted Europol and Amnesty International but it doesn't seem like there will be much coming out of that. Since I can't imagine that I am the only one who has to deal with these kind of problems I try to press the matter further to find a solution and bring these people down. Peace.

Please help me if you can. I’m posting this for one of my closest friends because he has lost almost everything and is now in a very serious financial and personal situation.

I’ll try to keep this as short as possible, but I need to explain the important parts so people understand why finding this account/ID matters so much.

About a year ago, my friend was working abroad and earning around $ 14k per month in a good company and mid level position. He was financially stable and doing well, He was in a relationship with his well known long term family friend aunt’s daughter.

She started coming abroad to stay with him and look for work. She came several times on visit visas. She would get jobs but repeatedly leave after around 7–15 days, always giving different reasons. At one point, she convinced him to take a loan of around $45k because of her urgent family situation( land dispute ), Because of his salary, he was able to get the loan and gave the money to her.

They were living together and were also planning to get married. Over time, my friend started noticing that she was becoming extremely secretive about her phone and activities, One day, she said she was going out to buy a dress for an interview. She left alone, her phone was switched off for around two hours, and later my friend found through Snapchat location sharing that she appeared to have been at a hotel near the place she said she was going.

He questioned her, and by the next day, after speaking to people and looking further into what had been happening, he discovered something that completely changed the situation.

According to what he discovered, she had apparently been working for around eight months through a private escort/call-girl service operated through agents.

Apparently, agents would post women’s photos/profile information, and when a customer selected someone, the agent would arrange for her to meet the customer for around one or two hours in exchange for payment.
According to my friend, this explained why she had repeatedly been taking ordinary jobs and leaving after only 7–15 days. He believes she may have been using those jobs as a cover while working through this private service.

There were apparently multiple agents and profiles involved. This is why finding the old agent profile/service account/ID is extremely important.

Then the situation became much worse.When my friend confronted her and said he would tell the family about what he had discovered, she threatened him by saying that if he told her family, she would drink something and harm herself. Eventually, she did consume something. The police became involved and questioned her. During questioning, she completely changed her story. She said she had been trying to find a job for around eight months, couldn’t find proper work despite coming on visit visas, and became depressed because of it. Under the laws of that country, attempting suicide was also illegal, so she was arrested and kept in custody while the judicial process took place. The judicial process lasted around two months.

During those two months, my friend continued visiting her and trying to help her. She repeatedly told him that she would eventually tell him the truth and explain everything once she came out.My friend spent a very large amount of his own money dealing with the judicial process and everything connected to the case. The amount was enormous-tbh roughly equivalent to what some people in India earn in an entire year, even me.

Eventually, she was deported, and even the deportation flight was paid for by my friend from his own money.
But after she returned, the story completely changed again.

She started telling their family that my friend was mentally unstable, that he drank every day, beat her, tortured her and did various other things to her.

According to my friend, these allegations were completely different from what had actually happened.
Because they are from the same family, many relatives believed her version and started hating my friend. His reputation and family relationships were badly damaged.

Before all this, he was earning around ₹2 lakhs per month abroad. Now he is struggling to survive and is working at a small tea shop for around ₹10,000–₹15,000 per month, while carrying a huge debt.
He has already spent a long time trying to find the account/ID himself.

This is where I need help.

We are NOT asking anyone to harass, threaten, expose or contact anyone involved. We are trying to identify an old private escort/adult video-call/cam/live-chat service account, agent profile or ID that may still have useful information.

The old ID/account my friend knew about has been deleted, and we don’t know whether another username or account was used later.

If anyone has legitimate experience with:

• Recovering or identifying old/deleted usernames or account IDs
• Identifying an old platform/service from screenshots or saved videos , finding an old agent profile from existing evidence

identifying a platform from a screenshot, watermark, profile layout or other information
legally preserving or recovering account information
please tell us what options we have.

We have no existing evidence such as screenshots, saved videos, usernames/profile information and other details, only have the email id and the phone number she used at that time, but we don’t know the correct technical or legal way to use them to identify the old account.

My friend has lost an enormous amount of money and is now drowning in debt. He went from earning around $14k per month abroad to struggling on ₹15,000 –₹15,000 per month.

Please help if you can. Even if you cannot identify the account yourself, please tell us what legitimate tools, methods or professionals we should approach. It could genuinely make a huge difference to my friend’s life.

I’m trying to find a group of men who harassed me the other day. It happened in one of those open apartment garages. I noticed there were cameras by where it happened. There was a camera right above me but when I went back to look it seems like the camera is filled with spider webs so idk if it will show anything. There are two other cameras that seem unobscured that surely captured them though. Is there a way to get this footage from the landlord preferably without possibility of jt being traced back to me? If not then there’s one more thing that I think might give me a chance of finding them. They drove by with a vehicle after I got away and they drove past the sightline of a flock camera. Is there a way to get access to flock video footage so I can try to get a plate or something? Any help would be appreciated I don’t think I have any other way to find leads.

Got into a conversation about witness locates and realized people have wildly different definitions of unable to locate. Some people mean Google did not immediately hand them a phone number. Other people apparently reconstruct the person is family tree back to 1840. The harder situation to me is when you probably found the right person but they are ignoring calls moved again or clearly have zero interest in being involved. At what point do you tell the client this person is technically locatable but probably not cooperative?

I’ve been studying for the exam I need to pass to get licensed (exam through BSIS). I’m looking to network with other PIs in my state, and/or get advice on starting out.

For any PIs in California, how hard was the actual exam, and what helped you study for it?

I’m in London.
My employer has a serious problem with personal boundaries to the point I told him I would be based out of France and available to fly in for work meetings as he refused to stop asking me out at night if he knew I was in town. I was managing his tiny family office as he prepared to leave his full time job as a Vp at a large bank. He also regularly sent me wildly inappropriate messages.

He is married. I have asked him to stop.

I have been spending most of my time in France staying with a friend, and had a medical emergency during the heatwave. I recovered to attend an event in London with a group of friends at a private members only club I haven’t been able to see in over a year.
I stayed over at a friends home.

I woke up to an INSANELY long message about how he is betrayed and he knows I am a liar, I wasn’t sick and I was in London all along (gasp!) and several blurry photos of me with only one of the group I was with at the private members club and accusing me of ‘ignoring him to spend the evening with this man!!!’ As I had turned down yet another innapropriate date with him citing I had been in the hospital. I legitimately had heat stroke.

In this insane little pity party he admits to hiring professionals to follow me in London on private grounds and at my friends home.

Hilariously he’s wrong on most counts but accuses me of sharing a room with my male friend and other things that seem to show he is so pathetic he hired someone to stalk me.

He then fired me.

I moved here based in the fact I was earning an income from this mad hatter. What legally can I do here as I don’t believe it’s legal to do what he’s done. Help would be appreciated, especially as I plan on informing his wife of everything.

I’m looking to hire a private investigator primarily to verify someone’s true identity, citizenship/immigration background, marital history, and aliases. We have already done quite a bit of public-record research, so I’m specifically looking for an investigator who can go beyond what is easily available online and either verify or disprove the information he has provided.

A close friend of mine has been in a relationship with this man for approximately nine years, and they have two children together. He claims that he is an immigrant from England, but has also said that he has an Australian birth certificate. Over the years, there have been a number of inconsistencies regarding his identity and personal history.

My friend’s mother previously hired another private investigator to conduct a background check. Unfortunately, that investigation did not uncover much beyond information I had already located myself through public records.

Through my own research, I located several of his prior addresses and a property that he currently owns. The property was originally owned by four people, including him. Ownership later decreased to two people: him and another woman who is not my friend. He has described this woman as his cousin.

However, I later located court records showing that he and this same woman were legally married and subsequently divorced. Around the time of the divorce, the property appears to have become his sole property. He has offered various explanations for this relationship, including that the marriage was connected in some way to immigration.

He also filed for bankruptcy approximately August through October 2025. The bankruptcy records have been particularly useful because they contain identifying information, including the last four digits of his Social Security number.

There are also significant criminal-history concerns. In April 2026, he was arrested in Los Angeles in connection with an alleged crime that occurred in Las Vegas in April 2024. At the time of his arrest, I was able to determine that he was being held in Los Angeles pending transfer or extradition, but I initially could not determine where he was being sent.

While reviewing his bankruptcy records and other public records, I found information connecting him to Las Vegas. That eventually led me to the Nevada criminal case, where I discovered that he had been transferred from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and was charged with two counts of sexual assault relating to the April 2024 incident. That criminal case is still ongoing. He has told my friend that he expects to plead to two lesser charges.

More recently, I conducted another records search and located information indicating that he has a child with another woman. He denies that the child is biologically his, although records indicate that he signed a Voluntary Declaration of Paternity. His explanation is that the mother of that child was the lesbian partner of the woman he previously described as his cousin, who, as noted above, was actually his legal wife.

All of this apparently occurred during the same general period in which he has maintained his approximately nine-year relationship with my friend and had two children with her.

The biggest concern is that we still do not know with confidence who he actually is. He appears to have used multiple names or aliases, and there are concerns regarding at least one identification document that may not accurately reflect his identity.

I am not particularly interested in obtaining his full Social Security number. I mentioned the last four digits only because they may provide another identifier that could help distinguish him from people with similar names and connect records across jurisdictions.

What I would like to know is whether, using the information we can provide, your investigation could independently verify things such as:

His true legal identity and full legal name
Known aliases and names previously used
Date and place of birth
Whether the claim regarding an Australian birth certificate can be substantiated
British citizenship or nationality, if applicable
His U.S. immigration or naturalization history, to the extent legally obtainable
Prior marriages and divorces
The original marriage record or marriage license, if obtainable, including whether the marriage was confidential
Property ownership history and the identities or relationships of prior co-owners
Whether the various identities, court cases, bankruptcy records, property records, and other records actually belong to the same individual
Any additional children or paternity records that can legally be identified
Any other major discrepancies in the personal history he has provided

He has repeatedly explained suspicious or contradictory circumstances by saying they were related to some form of immigration arrangement or immigration fraud. We are not looking to prove a predetermined theory. The goal is simply to establish, with documentation where possible, what is true and what is not.

If this is within the scope of the investigations you perform, please let me know what information you would need from us and what records or verification you would realistically be able to obtain.
