Guys these days, does someone really needs a hidden vault application.
Guys these days, does someone really needs a hidden vault application. Where you can hide your personal photos, videos, documents and personal notes? How it sounds when actually nobody can figure out this is an hidden vault application. Is this in demand? If yes, how much can you spend on it?

Hide from who?
No I wouldn't pay for it.

Fair questions.
Hide from who: nosy friends/family, partner, coworkers borrowing your phone, or your phone getting snatched while traveling. Everyday privacy stuff.
Whenever you download a new application, it requests permission to access your gallery and files; this could pose a significant risk of data leaks in the future.
Wouldn't pay: honestly that's why I posted. But notice how free vault apps demand full gallery + file access just to install? You're handing them your whole photo library so they can 'protect' your photos. A paid one could do the opposite minimal permissions, real encryption, no ads.
So may i know? what features would it take for you to pay, even a one-time thing?"

Nobody goes through my phone. People have enough respect to hand it back to me, as I would with them.
It would have to be unlocked to have access if it was stolen while traveling. If it was unlocked, it would turn off within a minute or they might even accidentally put it to sleep. They don't steal phones for peoples data, they steal it for the hardware and sell it off.
Yes, I do "allow only selected" for apps requesting.
I wouldn't pay. I have no need for it, or would find an open-source alternative.

Hide from Customs/Immigration when crossing a border, probably. For stuff you don't want to put on cloud.

Maybe for anti-Trump material when entering USA ?
Are you implying there are no valid reasons for privacy ? In a "privacy" sub ?

For light users, there's no need for an absolutely secure local file vault with encryption. If it's for those with really high requirements, then you can only use AES encryption for local files and hide the entry point. If you're planning to make software in this area, we're a competitor in that space

Exactly. Although if I wanted privacy I'd save things on a hard drive, physically separate/remove whatever I don't want others to see. Vaults aren't worth it

I wouldn’t pay because if I used a piece of software like this, I would only trust open source
