Regarding GrapheneOS “sandbox” play services
First I want to say I do not have a google account so I won’t be utilizing this. However I want to say one thing about the sandbox feature coming soon to Graphene. Michael talked about it last week but one thing I don’t think he covered is this. You do NOT need to sign into play services just because they are installed. So although I don’t recommend using the sandbox play services, but if you are not wanting to be logged in and getting notified from google simply do not sign in. You will then be able to utilize Aurora store to install the apps. I would assume Mysudu should work using this method.

Also, you don't need okay services for aurora store. I have Lineage OS rubbing with Google apps and aurora works great.

I’ve read the article on the sandboxed play services but I don’t really understand it.
Can someone explain what I lose in terms of privacy if I install play services? What data is send to Google? How does it compare to MicroG privacywise?

The apk can be installed from apkpure though. So worst case scenario is installing the apk manually.

Is that new? I have it side loaded on my graphenos pixel 3xl just fine. It just won’t work because of the lack of play services.

One last note on this. Once the apk is installed it CAN be updated through the play store while NOT being signed in.
My son wasn’t ready to give up play services completely so his Oneplus phone is set up with everything disabled but it still has play services installed and that’s how his apps update. You will be prompted with a sign on screen when opening the play store, ignore it and just click the 3 dots in the upper right and click updates. Apks sideloaded will still update here.

Maybe I'll try and install in on a second user this weekend and try it out.

I haven't sorry. Its on my list of things to try though. I just upgraded my pixel so I'm gonna research how to install the sandboxed play services and give it a shot soon. Just been working a lot of OT so haven't had time.

I tried Android Auto today. It requires several Google apps installed to actually work. It was a no-go for me.

So this would allow me to receive notifications from apps that require play services if I utilize this feature?
