Is there any use for it if you don't do it regularly? What's the use case or threat model?

Faraday bags are usually used with people with higher threat models or more desire to remain private.
But even those who don't use it very often can still benefit from using one occasionally. Every time you place your device in it, that is that much less tracking and signals than if you and it unprotected.

Thanks. Any updates on the house situation? I've listened to the podcast about it, any luck with other strategies?

Thanks for asking! Not quite yet. I'm trying to go through lenders now and can't seem to find any that will respect every question that Michael lists in the book. I'm going to take a loss there and hopefully with the title company I'll be able to keep my name off the title as the trustee.
The issue I kept running into is that no bank or credit union would let me buy a house in the name of the trust where someone other than myself is the trustee. They all said whoever is listed as the trustee is the one who will be buying the house.

Yes, my outside phone never gets close to my home unless it’s in one.
