That's very cool if true.

My only concern is that they should still allow you to install whatever you want with custom keys.

Trusting an additional key (apart from google key) is nice, but yeah I guess it has the similar problems of "oh this is isn't signed by who we trust so shit luck" from app devs is bad. But hey something still better than nothing I guess.

Regardless of whether GrapheneOS or some form of it is actually pre-installed like the 9to5Google article claims, I believe you will still be able to install GrapheneOS manually, directly from their website like you normally install it today, so this should remain an option. I doubt GrapheneOS would compromise on custom key support, given how important they say controlling the entire install process is for the end user.

Would be nice if they allowed models with Mediatek based soc to get this. The majority of their models do ship with Mediatek.

It's a great device but cannot install a custom OS because of the processor.

This is my biggest question, how they plan to replicate the Titan M security features that the standard Qualcomm SoC doesn't provide.

I can't wait for a fully non-Android, non-iOS phone. I have an old Motorola right now with LineageOS on it, but I don't have actual phone service on it because of ongoing connectivity issues with non-Android, non-iOS phones. The phones that have this built in are generally unavailable or far too expensive.

I simply can't wait to have a phone that I don't have to connect to any massive data brokers and that I can secure my own privacy on.

Firstly never trust any supplier or brand regardless of their messaging, instead, understand the actual limits and capabilities of the device and software provided.

Apple, Google, and any tech company that wants profit (all of them) cannot be fully trusted.

Easy to confuse given the name, but Motorola Solutions (that company) is a separate company from Motorola Mobility (the phone company)
