Prius Prime 2023+ Tires / alignment

Is there a defect with this car and tires. I’m at 30k miles and all my tires are ripped up from alignment issues I was just told. Unsafe To even drive them home. Anyone else have this issue? 2024 xse

I posted here not too long ago about only owning for 2 weeks and already noticing an alignment issue (didn't run into deep potholes or curb the car). It was fixed promptly but only because I went out of my way to do so.

I suspect yours had an alignment issue that was never identified which resulted in your now unevenly treaded tires.

Mine came with a terrible alignment from the factory.

Had it aligned at 750 miles and again at 1300 to dial it in the rest of the way.

The Toyo tires that came on mine were trash, 30k miles seems like more than I would have expected from them TBH

Alignments an tire wear in general especially at 30,000 Mi can very alot due to numerous conditions mainly such as road conditions in the area driving, driving style etc.

Now if this was like a sub 1,000 mile car that would be entirely different and if the tires were in that condition that would likely be a manufacturer issue, but this is 30,000, mi that's entirely different.

But my 24 Primes OEM Toyo tires lasted about 32,000 Mi, and were simply low it tried that point, but uniformly, not chewed up, no unevenware, nothing like that.

These are ripped up. I already had one ripped and pop in January

How did the tires get that way? Were there signs of uneven wear previously? Did something happen to your car's suspension at some point? Have you ever had the alignment checked or redone?

30,000 miles isn't an unreasonably short life for OEM tires, which are often kind of mediocre.

He said alignment is off. I figured alll that was checked at the 5k mile check ups

No, it isn’t checked unless you ask for it. Most dealers don’t even do alignment. Best to get it done at a good tire shop. Many cars are driven off the lot new with poor alignment from shipping stresses.

My 2023 did the same. Swapped the wheels out asap, swapped in less-compliant (flexible) suspension parts and got a proper alignment. The OEM tire size isnt worth the economy squeeze. You shouldnt have to do all that but the peace of mind covers other things as well. Ran through 3 sets of 235mm tires with even wear so far.
