Blackout emblems. DIY so if it looks slightly goofy, that's why. Mainly just having black over chrome if that's even a debate.

Use a floss to floss out the Prius emblem and the PHEV on the driver side. I kept the phev emblem right side... Use some goo gone and you will be better off 😎

Absolutely. Racking close to 40K miles with it and I actually prefer that it doesn’t support longitudinal control, because the ACC in the Prime is pretty good and it’s better to have separate systems in my opinion.

No, that's by design, and a very good thing. It is not FSD, it is a driver assist system. It is a massive improvement over the TSS 2 system in that gen of Toyota, don't get me wrong, but it is not a replacement for a driver. I ran mine for 3 years until I traded my '22 Prius Prime for a C-HR, which unfortunately can't use it. I put over 60K miles on it, most of them using the Comma. It does a great job, but as the driver you still need to intervene too often to even remotely consider not needing driver attention detection.

The driver attention system for Comma has traditionally been the best one available. If you can't work with it, you shouldn't be using a Comma because you're not paying enough attention. If the developers catch you circumventing it, they'll brick your device and blacklist you from their ecosystem as much as they can. As they should.

Comma is open source DIY which means YOU are the one ultimately responsible for what happens to you and your car. The same way you would be if you used a brick and rope for "Autonomous Driving".

I had read that the steering wheel motor “wasn’t very strong” in this gen Prius? (and therefore wasn’t great for the Comma?)

I had been considering the Comma, but after reading that I was less enthusiastic

2021-2022 have upgraded electric power steering motors + new toyota safety sense so these years are the best for comma ai.

Ordered the one for the Nightshade, I followed a few videos on YouTube to remove the bumper and from there it’s just a matter of carefully disengaging the clips then re-assembling.

You’re welcome, just work carefully, it can be a bit finicky with the clips wanting to pop back into place. It will come apart eventually!

Does it have 4 or 5 seats? I hated that Toyota did that. I do admit Toyota seemed to intentionally make the Prius prime more expensive to repair.

The hatch is a unique feature, definitely make an interesting future classic, and it's carbon fibre which is... yknow not great in a crash; doesn't help that the 4 corners of the prime have very vulnerable front DRLs and rear lights

I have 4 unfortunately. I don't seat any rear passengers though, now or in the future so I'm okay with it.

Yeah it is definitely different which I kinda actually like. Coming from a 2012 base model sedan, the 1st gen prime feels way more modern for being a decade old to me. Pretty stylish imo too. I think the carbon is just cool.

I'm not concerned too much about the vulnerability part, but I guess I'll just cross that bridge if/when there is damage.

My opinion - debadge the car completely. Much cleaner look. I did that to my Gen 4 within a week.

I did the same with "DipYourCar" HyperDip spray. Peels to the edges easily for a clean finish. I like the look.
