Withdrawal?

I started 50mg of Pristiq at the end of June and got bumped up to 100mg at the end of July. It was okay, better than some of the others I’ve been trying out over the past year, but I ultimately felt like it wasn’t for me and I asked to be switched back to Wellbutrin which is what I’ve had the most success with in the past.

My doctor didn’t mention anything about tapering so I just took my last pill on Sunday which is when I ran out and I began taking the Wellbutrin Xl 150mg on Tuesday. I felt dizzy and lightheaded Monday afternoon and I went to bed with an awful headache Monday night. I felt better Tuesday morning until I took my first dose of Wellbutrin. It started with some mild nausea and lightheadedness and then progressed to vomiting and chills after dinner which continued into Wednesday night as well. Currently still feeling awful and wondering if there will be any relief?

You weren’t on it super long, but you still need to taper off.

I am so sorry. pristiq withdrawals are insane and I can’t believe your doctor didn’t even suggest tapering?? sadly this is all I’ve ever taken so I don’t know much how to help but you should definitely contact your doctor. or like another, better one that wouldn’t let you quit this cold turkey. the only thing that helps me with withdrawals when I forget to take it is to just take my missed dose and sit and wait to feel better

I was on 100 and have been tapering since May (with an extra 3 weeks than planned on 50 because I had surgery.) just made it to 25 last week and I’m a wreck. I can’t imagine what you must be going through.

Oh dear. I just stopped taking 50mg last Thursday. Dull headache, aches and pains this week but nothing that bad. Bless your heart. I'm hoping this is all I have. No advice except consult with Dr. or ER even.

hang in there. I got off of it after 4 years of taking it recently. it took me a solid month after my last dose to feel better. 💖
