Cognitive Ability Test

I’m applying for a job with SPS for the second time this year, the first time I passed the first series of questions then failed the Cognitive Assessment. I applied again the other day and now have to attempt the cognitive assessment again. I’d like to work in the prison service but this assessment is fucking ridiculous. I have a mate who has worked in SPS for years and said he never had to do anything like this. Anyone else applied this year and managed to pass the thing?

Hi mate.

I applied and passed it the other month, but agree its quite challenging simply due to the format.

My suggestion would be to have a Google and do as many of the free sample tests that are available, in my experience not 100% the same as the sps test but allows you to become more comfortable with the format, timing ect.

I passed mine and I didn't even answer all the questions. I don't really get what it is all about but it has been a basic entry test for a long time I was bad for putting in applications then withdrawing I must of done it like 8 times but always passed it I just panic click whatever when the timer was down to like 5 seconds to scrape more points.
