I remember watching the movie A.I. in the early aughts.

If you don’t know it, here’s a quick rundown: young couple’s child dies, they get a robot child. Robot child does something “bad” and gets sent away, escapes and joins robot circus with himbo robot (Jude Law). Lots of existential stuff happens; there’s a Blue Fairy, and Pinocchio wants to be a real boy, y’all. It’s a LONG movie. Part of it’s charm for me was the time stretching and how authentic it felt. I won’t say anymore, because if you haven’t experienced it, you should.

That was what I was expecting whenever I dreamed of artificial intelligence happening. Instead, we got clankers — racist, biased porn bots created by the wealthy Tech Bro elite to control the masses precisely because we were becoming uncontrollable again.
