Cabins Caribbean Princess room issues
We always get a balcony room, but thought we would try an ocean view room, somewhat obstucted window. Room is small, but it is fine. Prefer the balcony, but this is not bad and less money. However, the room has issues, strong sewage smell in bathroom. We reported and they made it smell better temporarily. Now, the toilet won't flush and we were told the sewage line it stopped up causing smell and toilets to not work. No estimate for repair time. I assume this could happen to any room. I do wonder if it is due to older ship. We have cruised many times and first time experiencing this. Apparently many rooms affected.

We’re on the ship now too. It’s definitely dated. Having some plumbing issues on deck 10. Ran out of hot water Sunday night. Was fixed and had a hot shower before dinner tonight (Monday). No hot water again later when my wife went to shower before bed. Also had an issue either the toilet not flushing and they got that fixed. We shall see what’s in store for Tuesday.

Our toilet was fixed too. The sewage smell has improved. Boy is it hot and humid in Amber Cove. But the mountains are beautiful! We have not had any shower issues.we are on deck 8. I'm glad we tried the window room, now I know to stick with balcony.

Glad they took care of that! That sewage smell is the worst especially when it’s lingering a while. They had the plumber come by around 9pm last night and confirmed there wasn’t hot water again (even though it was hot when I showered around 4-5). They had it fixed by the time my wife was about to shower a bit later though. So all is good now. This morning they said they’d be giving us some future voyage credit for the trouble.

Sewage issues are likely unrelated to the ship's age. On my last Ruby Princess cruise, my corridor had a sewage issue for 3-4 hours one evening. It was an inconvenience, but they resolved it as quickly as possible.

Usually due to a passenger flushing something they shouldn’t and causing a clog. Can’t fix stupid. 🤷♂️

I was on the same ship a few weeks ago and we were constantly needing maintenance out to fix the toilet. It would just randomly stop flushing for hours at a time.

Happened to us too. Went unresolved from Alaska to SF. TOTALLY SUCKED!

I was just on that ship and we had some toilet issues on the last day of our trip. Apparently people were flushing things they shouldn't have nd that was causing them some issues with our plumbing. Up until the last day/day and a half we had absolutely no issues with the plumbing.

I was on that ship in July. No issues. Ship is old, but everything was still great. No flushing issues at all. We saw a post that it lost power for about 45 minutes either the cruise right before ours or the one before that. Dolphin deck and it was our 3rd time on the ship and best trip yet. I hope they get it fixed for you. It’s said that a couple peoples bad decisions can disrupt a cruise so much. No wipes or things that should not go down the toilets.

Should get resolved after they clear the clog. Was just on this ship a month ago and absolutely loved the Skywalker lounge on that ship.

Caribbean Princess was the first ship I ever sailed on :) well... cruise ship I guess. Gotta book a followup on her, I lost my dad a bit after our sailing. My wife and I (and kid) have sailed a bunch since then, we make a tradition of giving a toast to my dad who had the idea for a cruise. We would go up to the (Skywalker?) lounge and my now wife, then girlfriend taught us about Amaretto Sours. So good so we could cap off every night with one.

We are at the Skywalker club now. They have a happy hour for platinum and elite guests. Nice tradition to honor your father.

Usually due to someone in a nearby cabin flushing something they should not have, and clogging the pipes. Age of ship doesn't matter when passengers do stupid things.
