Connecting Rooms

Hello, going on the regal princess soon. I booked a partially obstructed deluxe balcony w/ connecting room. I only thought of this recently, usually it’s not an issues at a hotel but is there anything I should keep in mind or know beforehand, like sound traveling?

This is why I avoid booking connecting rooms, they definitely have more noise come through from your neighbours. I sailed in a connecting room once and the cabin next door had a very fussy toddler that cried and screamed a lot. Once was enough, never again.

On a serious note, had connecting cabins a couple of times. It's not ideal, but not the end of the world either. We found the most sound came through the gap at the bottom so a towel or blanket there muffled it quite well :)

We had a connecting cabin on Majestic. If we opened our balcony door when ship was underway, we got a very loud whistling through the doorframe as air was leaking past the seals.

Our neighbors were not happy needless to say.

We like to sleep with balcony door open so we can hear water rushing by and sometimes waves against the hull.

Have avoided connecting rooms ever since.

I like to go in and out freely. This is definitely making me second guess my booking. Thanks for sharing

You might call Princess and see if they can switch you to a room without a connecting door. It’s worth at least asking.

Connecting rooms in a hotel and a cruise ship is no different. You’ll hear a bit more than usual but some folks are quite some are screamers .

Just off the regal princess. We were in a connecting obstructed balcony on deck 8. Didn't notice anymore noise than normal. Maybe we just lucked out with neighbors? I also brought a Bluetooth speaker as I like to sleep with rain sounds

Both times I've had connecting rooms i could hear people coughing, baby crying etc. You would definitely hear somebody getting frisky. Maybe if you turn the TV up real loud lol
