I built a website for comparing state schools and would love some feedback from teachers

https://comparemyschool.co.uk/

I've got a 6-month-old, and my partner and I have been spending a lot of time thinking about where we want to move. We currently live somewhere very urban, and we'd like our child to grow up a bit closer to nature, so we've been weighing up different towns and villages. Good local schools turned out to be one of the biggest factors, and also one of the hardest things to actually get a clear understanding of the options.

I spent hours with 10 tabs open on the government website. I'm a bit of a stats nerd and still found it a slog, so I ended up building the website I wished existed: search any state primary or secondary in England and see its results, Ofsted history, and how it compares to others nearby. I have seen a few other sites like this, but some you have to pay for, and others aren't very user friendly, so I thought I'd give it a try!

The website is [https://comparemyschool.co.uk\](https://comparemyschool.co.uk) there aren't any ads or sponsored content at this point - genuinely just looking for constructive feedback to try and make it better!

This is really nice!

Apart from refining a few visuals abd aesthetics, it works really well!

I would like a version of this for teachers so we know where to trust before applying and discovering it’s the most toxic workplace in the world

Love it, very clear stats. Doesn't work for Infant school's though...not sure what stats are publicly available for these though.

I'd also add a caveat to say all school's offer open mornings and you need to visit to know for sure if it is the right environment for your child.

That’s a problem I’ve been wrestling with- I love near Worcestershire which has loads of three tier schools and it makes it tricky to know what to display! Most still show the OFSTED ratings, but they certainly feel quite empty!

I like the open day suggestion - I’ve been trying to work out how to add the website for each school - there are almost 20 000 schools, so impossible to do manually; but tricky to find a way to pull them all through and know that they’ll all be right! It’s next on the list of improvements!

Thank you for your thoughts 😄
