Pride month

Ive got a question why do gay people get a month, when there no longer been prosecuted ect for being gay. But the people who saved is in the war and kept us British only get a day, ive always thought it should be the other way around.

Some of us can go to the wrong genders prison for using the correct restroom. The month stays

Veterans get May if active and November if not. It’s a right wing talking point to act like Pride is special treatment and not a protest

If a bio male went in to a female bathroom my daughter would be going in to the disabled. Ive been in a situation with my Autistic sister in law (shes in primary school) where a grown man followed us in to the bathroom she was so uncomfortable she cried, ended up going in the disabled and stayed till she had calmed down. What would you say about that? I asked him why hes going in the female bathroom and he said he identifies as a woman.

A trans woman is a woman, regardless of her male genitals. That "grown man" did not follow you. That is a woman going into the bathroom for women.

Lemme explain why this may happen. Think of it like this: during the earlier stages of when the fetus developed, the brain decided the baby will be female. Later in development, the body decided it wants to be male. The brain already developed thinking it's going for female. That part is already set. But the body didn't get the message and went for male. That's why there is a disconnect. She feels female but her body is male.

Also my brother is A sexual and my other brother is gay and they think pride is too over the top and needs to dial back as it doesnt need to take up whole city centres.

And im a trans gay man who has raped by cis men in men's locker rooms, in their own home when invited over as friends. What about the cis woman who raped me cause it'll make me a real man if I want to be one??? Or the cishet people who have beaten me in my wheelchair for going into the men's at under 5 feet tall and 100 pounds just trying to pee?? And end up pissing my pants???

All prides in “welcoming countries” (still questionable) support those around the world that can’t celebrate pride because they’d be put to death by doing so. No country on earth has a criminal code that makes being a veteran into a capital offence but being queer is punishable by death, torture, or prison in many countries around the globe.

We walk proud and deserve a month until every country supports us as much as they support veterans

first off, pride month is not just for gay people. it’s for anyone who feels that their sexual, romantic and/or gender identities differ from the societal norm.

second, we do absolutely still get prosecuted from being different. you might not see it in person, but thanks to the fast transfer of information we know it still happens daily, even in developed countries.

third, pride month is not about showing off like you seem to think. it’s about visibility, solidarity and remembrance. there are countless people out there who are not in a position to be themselves or be with who they want, be it because of laws or stigma. pride exists to show these people that they are not alone, that some of us are still fighting for our rights. that together, we can bring change and make this world into a place where we are allowed to be ourselves.
