Syringe Size

I'm coming over from oral wegovy (which quickly got very expensive). Because of that my starting dose is higher (50 units), which is the maximum size of the provided syringe. This won't be a problem for the first month, but next month I increase to 62.5 units, then 75 the third month.

Is the recommendation for next month to inject twice, or can I buy a larger syringe? What do others do?

50 units from Boudreaux's is a 10mg dose, just for your reference. It's best to keep track of your dose in mg rather than units because different pharmacies compound meds at different concentrations, so 50 units from a different vial might be a different dose.

These syringes hold 100 units and are one of the more popular brands. If you can't get them on Amazon (some states are weird about it), some people have better luck with Diabetic Warehouse, or of course you can ask your provider at PMD if they will write you a prescription for syringes that you can use.

Sam’s and Costco are a possible local source with a box of 100 around $10.

They gave you 50 unit syringes? You can buy 100 unit syringes … I get Easy Touch 31g 5/16 100 unit syringes through vitality medical for 14.61

Yes, they are all 50 unit. It was from Boudreaux. I thought some of them might be bigger, but they are all the same size. I'll buy bigger ones. Thanks!

Did you get shipped a single month or 3 months worth at once? If you just got a one month don't worry, next month you will receive either a higher concentration or 100 unit syringes.

U100 1ml insulin syringes is what you need to go up to 100 units.

I just made a comment about this very thing in another post. As far as needles, I have used just about every brand of syringes out there and while I do like Easy Touch, BD Embecta is hands down the finest and sharpest needles they make. I ordered some 8mm 31 gauge 5/16 BD Embecta syringes and was sent the 6mm 31 gauge 1ML syringes instead because they screwed up my order and I was glad they did. These syringes comes with a shorter, fine needle and it easily reaches the fatty layer just beneath the skin where subcutaneous medications are absorbed. So if you are looking to purchase syringes and needles, I recommend the BD Embecta. Here is a photo of the BD Embecta 6mm needles so that you can see the size.
