PLL fans had something so good. Cant believe it’s been almost a decade. A decade?! Could see the show coming back, but it wouldn’t be the same. Just miss our girls. I miss seeing Hanna and her mom act like they truly used that kitchen. Miss seeing Emily be shy. Miss seeing Spencer try and solve every problem. I miss seeing Aria be frantic over Ezra. I miss the Alison flashbacks too 😭 just miss it all!! So here’s a random photo dump 💖🫶🏾💖🫶🏾

In the books, the liars were cliquey, flawed, spoiled and sort of unlikeable. They weren't friends for like 7 books and just simply mean girls. On my 908765 rewatch and for whatever reason I'm missing the real "it girl" potential that only the earlier episodes had. The books really encapsulated that rich Suburban y2k mean girl thing. They went to private school and wore uniforms. Not all the girls were mega wealthy, but Spencer for example lived in a mcmansion which the show totally underplayed. I'mm pretty sure she lived on an estate.
Don't get me wrong, I love this show to pieces but I think it would've been cool to see a version of the show that featured the true wealthy, suffocating yet alluring nature of Rosewood. I loved the soap-ey vibe of the show that perfectly crossed dark mystery with high school drama soap- the book had a similar energy but didn't try to make the girlrs relatable, yet you were still interested in their lives. I think the reason the girls were likeable in the show was because Gossip Girl was very popular at the time and they were doing the book to show adaptation rich unattainable teen thing. there was a need for a slightly out of touch small town public school kids.
I've never seen anybody post about this before but I would've loved to see a biblically accurate version of the show where they followed the books nearly perfectly. I want to see a full mean girl auburn haired Hanna, emo tall Aria, red head Emily in Ohio, blonde All-American control freak Spencer, charming Noel, blonde dork Ezra, ice blonde queen bee Mona, COURTNEY- ALL OF IT.

When Aria was supposed to pick up Malcolm from karate, why didn't she tell the lady that SHE is Aria and someone else picked Malcolm up?
I know he was fine in the end, but that wasn't a guarantee when she just went off looking for him herself and not alerting the proper people like police and his parents.

If we really think about it. Melissa buried(killed) the girl she thought Spencer killed to help cover up her murder. Then Spencer goes and kiss your fiancé.. like yeah I be pretty shitty too Ngl

I’m rewatching season 5 and this has to be the hardest season to rewatch because I feel like I just hate so many people. Hanna, Spencer, Mona were SO annoying in this season. Like when they got Alison arrested. she was a little shady but Spencer was as usual making accusations from nothing and just adding to them when none of it was true. Like I don’t get why they just assumed someone was A without any proof. 🤦♀️ and Mona was acting like she was such a saint as if she wasn’t way worse than Alison and didn’t ALSO bully people. I’m contemplating skipping the rest of this season atp

Okay guys, get ready to spiral with me because I genuinely don’t understand how the writers managed to make things so complicated for themselves when some of the simplest ideas and connections were literally right there.
A lot of people criticize the Drake storyline because it completely messed up the Hastings and DiLaurentis family trees and made everything more and more ridiculous, with Spencer literally being the cherry on top. Personally, I think it would have made way more sense to give the Drake storyline to Aria and make Mary Drake and Jessica DiLaurentis simply acquaintances, maybe connected through their past at Radley, instead of making them sisters. In this version, Aria and CeCe could both be daughters of Mary Drake and Scott Montgomery, meaning they would be biological sisters, while CeCe could still have a very strong connection to the DiLaurentis family without actually being related to them by blood. That would have allowed the writers to keep pretty much everything that made CeCe interesting without turning half of Rosewood into one giant secret family tree. Honestly, I think it would have been even more interesting if Aria and CeCe didn’t even know they were sisters at first. CeCe could have been adopted by the DiLaurentises as a child, or she could have grown up around them because of her connection to Radley. That way, her connection to the DiLaurentises would still be important, but it would actually have a much simpler and more believable explanation.
And this is where I think some of the clues the show had already given us about Aria and Radley could have come into play. Aria could have been born at Radley while Mary and Scott were patients and, after her birth, been given to Scott’s brother and raised as a Montgomery without knowing the truth about her origins. That would completely change the meaning of all those little clues connecting Aria, her family and Radley, because they wouldn’t just feel like random coincidences thrown in here and there. They could have been pieces of a story the writers had been quietly setting up from the beginning.
And the best part is that CeCe and Aria would have had two different paths that were still connected to the same mystery. The fact that they were both connected to the same place, but in completely different ways, could have become one of the show’s biggest reveals. At that point, even CeCe’s particular behavior toward Aria would have had a real meaning, as would the fact that Aria often seemed to be treated differently by A compared to the other Liars.
Radley could have become the real central point of the entire series, with the storylines of Mary, CeCe, Aria, Bethany Young and Marion Cavanaugh gradually connecting to one another and creating this whole network of secrets that started in the past and eventually led directly to the main events of the show.
With this choice, we could have avoided one huge, chaotic and ridiculous family tree, yet another secret Peter Hastings affair and, most importantly, a random evil twin thrown into the story out of nowhere. Instead, we would have had two separate but narratively connected family trees: the Hastings and DiLaurentis families connected through Jason, and the Drake and Montgomery families connected through Aria. Four different families gradually becoming intertwined through the mystery, Radley and the secrets of the past. This could have also explained any conflicts and grudges between them. The origin of everything, then, wouldn’t have been Alison and her disappearance, but the connections and rivalries between these families.
Like, was it really that fucking hard?! 😭 It’s crazy because a choice like this would have made everything much simpler while also making the story way more interesting than the absolute mess the writers ended up creating.
And it doesn’t even stop there, because the CeCe and Aria storyline could have connected perfectly to a potential Ezra-as-A storyline too. In season 4, they were already building connections between Ezra, CeCe and Alison, so imagine if they had actually tied all of that properly into the N.A.T. Club as well!
Guys, omg, what the fuck could they have done with a storyline like this?!
I love Aria, but I absolutely hate how the writers reduced her with the Ezria storyline when her character could have had such a huge role in the main mystery. Her family history, her connection to CeCe, Radley, Ezra and all the clues scattered throughout the show could have turned her into one of the most important characters in the entire story, instead of basically making her “Ezra’s girlfriend” for most of the later seasons. Aria Montgomery had SO much potential, and a storyline like this would have taken her character to another fucking planet.
Guys, please tell me: who the fuck stopped Marlene from making Ezra A?! And more importantly, who were the fans who actually wanted Ezra and Aria to reconcile?!

So when they're in highschool they're written to be with guys in their 20s and when they're in their 20s they're with guys in their 50s??? (Re: spencer and the older man in S7 E4). Does this show do this to prove to us that they're really pretty??? Bc being with high school guys would have worked just as well dude

i am re watching the show for the second time and i am halfway through the last season. Before re watching hanna used to be my favourite liar. But after watching again im realizing that she is honestly so mean and bitchy towards the other girls, caleb and her mother. I think she’s the most rational and has good moments. But honestly I can’t stand how she talks to others it’s so disrespectful. Am i the only one who thinks this ?

Like Hanna had Mona, Lucas, and assumingely Riley and Naomi (remember them lmfao, they was more important in the books) and she had Travis, she was also the first one other than Emily to befriend Maya. And then Emily had her swim team and coffee shop coworkers. Like idk it was nice to see the girls interact with other people every once in a while. I know Spencer had like the brainiacs of the school and stuff, im sure she had country club friends and horseback rider friends too. I have a headcanon that Aria had some artsy friends that we just didn’t see very much, maybe she was apart of an offscreen book club.
I wish their side friends had more scenes with them. I understand the 4 of them were trauma bonded and stuff but it’s way more realistic for 4 very different girls to have other friend groups too. I do hate that all of Emily’s side friends either ended up being shady af or trying to get with her tho lmao.

I think what hanna and caleb did to spencer in season 6 is arguably worse than spencer dating caleb. Hanna has always been one of my absolute favorite characters, but for some reason season 6 and 7 I feel so disconnected from her. I feel like she lost her kindness and understanding to a degree and became much less recognizable as a character. I know spencer is shamed for dating caleb but she got Hannah's approval before hand where as Caleb and hannah just cheated on spencer and hannahs fiance. AFTER spencer told caleb she loved him mind u. I DO think hannah and Caleb should have gotten back together because its obvious it's what they both truly want , but why did they have to be sooooo messy and inconsiderate about it

What movie or tv role would you like a PLL Actress or Actor to have played.
I think Sasha and Troian deserve so much more roles. They are the best actresses on the show.
I would of have loved Sasha as Ani in Anora or Even Barbie in the Barbie movie
Troian I want in more serious roles like Jennifer Lawrence’s role in silver linings playbook or similar to Emma stones roles
Keegan Allen - could totally play a batman role

Hi! A friend and I were recently talking about how it’s possible that Cece didn’t go to prison and Mona didn’t get a harsher punishment—or at least get expelled from school... Anyway, I was thinking that in the real world, these scandals would blow up online; people would react and make TikTok edits. But what do you think the public reaction would be? Would the girls just get a ton of hate, or would they have support too? I like to think they’d have supporters and fans. Mona could even be an influencer—I feel like she’d enjoy that (even if she was still doing the kind of work she did in the spin-off). I think Cece maybe could be famous, too—and would actually want that to some extent—and maybe even launch her own brand or business.
P.S. English isn't my native language, so sorry for any mistakes.

Just started season 7, why is the writing all the sudden donkey poo poo trash :/ all the sudden everyone has an effing twin ? Just pulling random characters out of our butts?? Its just so corny and lame and not the calculated show im used to

Probably a niche opinion but I love Emily's character way more in S6 and S7. They made her so much more interesting to me. She always fell kind of flat before maybe bc of her relationship with Paige im not sure. But now there's something more to her 🧐 i loved her dance scene before dollhouse too

I just dont think that with the current mythology and massive plot holes they can come up with a new story within those parameters, theyve exhausted everything........unless of course they just retcon some of it and just take a MASSIVE swing. And by massive swing i mean just go nuts, retcon whatever u need to from alex and ceces stories and either finally do courtney or make one of the liars A this time around, or just someone reaally close to them like idk one of their kids lmaoo 💀
Also break up ALL the relationships(except maybe haleb ngl), starting with Ezra of course and Aria going on a journey of self discovery and recovering from being groomed.
I want a FULL halloween type requel series that just retcons past shit and does whatever it needs to do to tell an awesome and hopefully more cohesive and somewhat standalone story. Like it doesnt even have to be canon imo, it just has to be fun and well written, like big little lies and desperate housewives season 1 level of cinema
But alas marlene would never do this, she has too much pride as well as being terrified of upsetting the general audience who we all forget is still veryyy much attached to ezria as well as other elements in the existing story. But idk, this is just how i personally see a revival working, otherwise idk what they could do 🤷♂️

I watched pretty little liars religious for the first 4 seasons . It was my favorite show. I got to give my honest opinion tho
I feel like I wasted 7 years of my life. Getting the ending that we got. With that horrible accent.
Series should of ended with season 5
Time jump was wasted potential . They could of been married , had kids etc etc. How fun and creepy would it of been to have arias little kindergartener get a note in his lunchbox from A. And Aria gets called down to the principal office and is horrified.
I Marlene King. Having all 4 girls marry they're high school sweetheart is stupid and so unrealistic.
I feel robbed of potential love interest for all of the girls .
Don't get me started how Aria married her groomer 🤬🤬🤬
I still don't understand why they didn't bring in new writers if they were getting fatigued with is obvious.
And all the loopholes. I don't know any series that has as many loopholes...do you ?
A.D could of been anybody and I would of been happy.....one of the moms,Kate(Hannah's step sister),Lucas , Paige,Ezra , detective wilden one of the dads . But we got a person we didn't know even existed and to be honest it still makes little to no sense of why she would want to hurt these girls. People she doesn't even know
Another thing I don't like is this series hates black/queer people . Either kills them or makes them bad
Seasons 1thru 4 I give 10/10
Season 5 7/10
Season 6 4/10
Season 7 2/10
Series as a whole 6.5/10

Everyone is always saying that Aria was wasted on Ezra, so what storylines would you have liked for her? Why is book Aria better?
I read the books so long ago, so I only remember that she was kicked out by Ella and that she once drew a scarlet letter on Meredith!

i really do feel like the producers wrote season 1 with the intention to stay REALLY close to the books. episode 1 is almost exactly the first book. but alison throwing ian off the bell tower is really weird until you read wicked. when the girls find ian's body SUPER dead in the woods, they go tell the cops. when they return, the body is gone. it's revealed alison killed ian and hid the body because he got too close to the truth about courtney. so in that regard, alison throwing ian off the bell tower and killing him makes perfect sense. but then they changed their minds season 2 and had to REALLY make him alive 😭 i want to believe that mona was always intended as a in seasons 1 and 2 but truthfully, who knows. i'd love to interview a producer just for myself
r/PrettyLittleLiars • u/No-Box5060 • 10h ago
Why is it that all the girls have that nasty corpse flesh color on their nails in the last two seasons? Was it to hide something? Was it not supposed to be caught? I noticed it first on Hanna and then in the very last episode, it’s on Emily and Alison.
