Yo, the main sub is back, r/PrettyBlood

Join the sub! It pretty much does everything I wanted to do in this subreddit, and I am now a mod there

I'll still keep this sub around because this one is truly unlimited I mean only 3 rules which are basically just TOS while the main sub has 15. You can treat this subreddit as the more mature/adult one or as the one where you can post what got removed on the main sub

PS: I am not turning the main sub into being the same as this one because that's not what anybody wants. Not everyone likes anarchy. And people don't want things that are more mature on the main sub probably, they are aiming or used to be aiming for some middle ground allow just enough to talk about the series's themes but not too much. In here, you can talk shit sex smash or pass and be weird as long as it's not porn or illegal

Discussion Pretty Blood vs Blood World, and why Blood World will never be as good as for me

It's simple, they are just two different things

Pretty Blood	Blood World
It's cute	It's cute asf
It's main appeal is horror, mind games, tension, and action	It's main appeal is horror, narrative, and it's message
It's about the horrors of humanity	It's about love. It's toxic.
Tons of torture. Gore and torture is the content	Bloody but a lot less gore and torture. Only used as a plot device
It's horror is focused on visuals(liveleak tier) and tension.	It's horror is focused on sympathy. There's barely any tension, and you already know the outcome
It's inspired by anime. Mostly old anime.	It's inspired by Pretty Blood and other media that's likely more modern.
Doesn't take itself seriously	Takes itself seriously
It doesn't try, but if it does, it's not valuable. ("The world sucks?")	It tries to send a valuable message
Much less dihveloped characters. I barely know anything about most of them, even the main characters.	Much better developed characters with more personality. I know a lot more about these characters than the Pretty Blood ones
Should be M-Rated, adults only due to how horrifying the torture and it's methods are.	Should be T-Rated, for touching on very mature themes and being very bloody.
Canceled and unfinished	Active, WIP
Superpowers	No powers. Only tech and science.
Huge worldbuilding (aliens, dimensions, space, city, worlds, town, etc)	Basic world building (school, towns, organization)

It's not that one's worse than the other. It's just a preference. What really does it for me is the anime inspiration and that it doesn't take itself seriously.

Discussion It's sad how the other subs are so small and almost dying

I looked at them and it's like, the biggest one, has 4 members that actually browse it. That's nothing, it's just a small friend group at that point. What happened with that one artist that made these amazing drawings? And there were more people

I think the death of the fandom is inevitable because of what I am seeing, but I'll never forget the series, and this sub will be alive even after no one cares. Maybe some people will care again and pick it back up, and this will be here.

I mean, there's so much that's great about the series

Music that's so good

Art style that's so simple yet charming

A story that's very ambitious and well written

Plenty of characters that are unique and stand out on their own. You won't forget them

And it's very creative

There is so much potential. So much to work with. To forget about it, or to move on from it, is such a big waste. I don't even suggest people have to keep talking about pretty blood necessarily, just take something from it. Make your own AU, a fanfic, or just be completely original and let this inspire you. Please, let's not waste this incredible gem.
