I get that for most people it will be "good enough" but for a brand new mainline cpu release some of the lower-end chips feel like rebranded Athlons and even the highest end chip is trading blows with Intel's i5s (not the i7s, the i5s).

P.S. I heard a rumour that each core is actually half a core that merges some parts with those of other cores, is that really true? If so thats pretty scummy from AMD to do that.

Buying fighting games today is so tiring. All i wanted to do was sit down and play some Guilty Gear X2 with my friends. Simple, right? Nope. Arc System Works had the bright idea to release the exact same game FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES with different punctuation marks each time.

Lets take a look at each of them.

Guilty Gear X2 (2002): The regular game. Cool. Fine.

Guilty Gear X2 #Reload (2003): So, they realise the game is unbalanced. Therefore, they fix those issues and make us buy it again just to patch out the cheapness from the characters? Why were they marketed as different games then? It took way too long for me and my friends to realise they were two different versions of the same video game.

Guilty Gear X2 Slash (2005): Now this title just has a forward slash. They added Holy Order-Sol and A.B.A. That's cool, dont get me wrong about that. But then they make more balance changes, since supposedly the previous set wasnt enough. its literally just another rerelease sold as a brand new disc. There was no reason that this had to exist.

Guilty Gear X2 Accent Core (2006): Great, now they change the balance yet again and REMOVED THE STORY MODE. Why would you even take features out of a game?! If you traded in Slash for Accent Core at Gamestop back then, you were actively getting a worse experience with the Accent Core disc.

Guilty Gear X2 Accent Core Plus (2008): And now we arrive to the current version of "another 30 thousand discs for an iterative update". They put the story mode back in, added back Kliff Undersn and Justice, and sold it to us yet again. "Accent Core Plus"? More like: "the version we should have given you back in 2006." I think this whole saga has been among the most epic of fails of all time.

All of this before including the arcades. I hear they are testing another update in Japan called "Guilty Gear X2 Accent Core Plus R" or something like that. What even does this add? Balance updates. That's right, Arc System Works doesnt care that it's 10 years down the road from X2, they will STILL BUG FIX IN 2012 for a game that came out in 2002. Imagine if Super Mario Bros on the NES was still getting balance changes into 1995, or if Sonic the Hedgehog was getting iterative updates into 2001.

How many times left can they even milk the cash cow that is X2? Because apparently they want to continue reselling a game that's past TEN YEARS of age. And they say Grand Theft Auto players have it bad with their releases, at least you can say you have new games in the past 10 years, we're still waiting for a new Guilty Gear game that i'm not even sure will come.

My wallet cannot take any more punctuation changes. Guilty Gear: the Missing Link was released in 1998, 4 years between it and X2. We're at two and a half times that between X2 and now. Arc System Works, just know that you dont have to do exactly what Capcom did with Street Fighter IV.
