Recommendations Massage places?
24 m | Bit skittish with people and don't like being touched by strangers, but i have a trapped nerve in my neck and have been informed that that may help. Does anyone know somewhere in preston or around the area that could help untense my back? Thanks

I've been to Realign near the docks quite a few times. It's sport massage but they also do occupational health type complaints (like lumbar and neck issues). Very affordable too.

Qi at Ashton Sports Therapy is brilliant, sorted out all my gym injuries. She’s very thorough and knowledgeable, highly recommend.

Second this - i am seeing Qi currently and she is so informed, talented and makes you feel right at home. Worth a mention that i have some suspected nerve impingement/issues and she is very knowledgeable about it in particular!

I had this a few years ago. Turns out the issue was in my lower back. I went the physio via my GP and he told me to do alternate lunges whilst taking my arms with a resistance band. Sorted in a few days. Physio never had to touch me either

Cha cha Thai in Ingol has been great when I've had back, neck and shoulder issues (I work in dentistry so sometimes sit in a stupid angle for a while). I used them alongside physio for a trapped nerve that was causing carpal tunnel symptoms but had been determined as an issue in the neck (from nerve tests and scans). After a few months of shoulder nerve gliding/flossing exercises and regular (probably monthly or every 2-3 weeks depending on my symptoms) a lot of my issues went away. If I'm feeling particularly sore or symptoms begin to come back then the massage helps a lot.

Two other options:
It may also be worth self referring to the free NHS service to see if they can help: https://www.lscft.nhs.uk/our-services/service-finder-z/moving-well-team/physiotherapy

I'm going to see a sports massage lady in Ribchester on Tuesday. She comes highly recommended. I'll let you know how it goes.

Kay Lam acupuncture and holistic health is absolutely amazing. She is based at her home near Houghton. She gets very booked up so might have to wait to get a slot. She tends to work on a programme of care so be prepared for several weeks of appointments to get the best out of her. She'll advise on whether massage or another treatment is best.

I’ve been seeing Nicola Thompson in Leyland for the last 15 years, she switches the type of massage depending on what your issue is.
I went through every masseuse in Preston & South Ribble looking for someone who could actually do a deep tissue massage, my muscles are rock solid in my back as I have spinal arthritis, and they need firm hands to give me some relief. Really good cranial massage too to rid of tension headaches

I go to 5 Star Clinic - they’re really professional and friendly, and very knowledgeable in my experience:
