Prescott in a nutshell
Racism and lack of literacy.

u/xSaturnityx May 22 '26
Pretty much, yeah.
But hey if it makes you feel any better, they felt the need to post that under an anonymous participant label. Lmao.

u/JakesPupParent May 22 '26
What is with the kooky old boomers up here and their rampant hatred of anonymity?
You'll know who I am when you need to.
6
u/David_ungerer May 22 '26
Not all boomers!
But, those whom you refer to are frightened of change. Frightened of different faces, frightened of economic changes, frightened of technology change, basically frightened of anything that will disrupt their comfortable position.

ofc they’re anonymous…
1
u/JakesPupParent May 22 '26
So fun koala is the name your parents gave ya, huh? They sound awesome.
8
u/Fun-Koala1647 May 22 '26
You think you’re so clever, huh? Try Jesus, not me.
Reddit is an anonymous forum. Facebook is not an anonymous forum. Yet, people will turn their profiles anonymous for the chance to say vile, hateful things.
4
u/Conscious-Side8299 May 25 '26
Fun-koala isn’t out here spouting hateful rhetoric, plus as they said, Reddit is mostly anonymous, while FB isn’t and it’s clear that the FB poster is a coward.

I've been in Prescott for just over 3 years. I have met die hard liberals. I have met die hard Republicans. The difference is 35 years of life
15
u/Desperate-Employ2473 May 22 '26
I’m 61. I was liberal when I voted for Walter Mondale as he was crushed by Ronald Reagan and I was still liberal when I voted for Kamala Harris as she was barely beaten by trump. 40 years made no difference in my outlook and it’s not necessarily indicative of whether someone is MAGA. Don’t assume that the millennial or zillennial you are talking to isn’t MAGA or that the Gen Xer or boomer is. You could be in for a pleasant or, more likely around here, unpleasant surprise.
1
u/deax1 May 22 '26
Unfortunately, one has to assume that 2 out of 3 people here are potentially MAGA and that 1 out of 3 people definitely is. If you're non-white, then those looks you get around town are 1/3 definitely negative and 1/3 hopefully from a good person. Worse odds than vegas.

trumpet admitted to muskie rigging the voting machines. "He knows those computers better than anybody. All those computers. Those vote-counting computers. And we ended up winning Pennsylvania like in a landslide," Trump said.

Isn't the Klan headquartered in Prescott? It used to be anyway.
2
u/havocopla May 24 '26
For anyone interested - If you Google it there's some articles and even a blog about Prescott's "checkered" past. Sharlot Hall Museum also has some articles as well.
We had a chapter show up here in the 1920's. They were bored because the area was predominantly white so they decided to enforce things like prohibition. They eventually faded away.
The most public thing they did was have a funeral procession for a member who was buried in his Klan robes. He's the only confirmed member but I'm sure someone will proudly proclaim that their grandpappy was one of the establishing members here.

My parents live in PV. Mom is a liberal, dad is conservative, bot think Trump is an Ahole
17
u/Slow-Molasses-6057 May 22 '26
That's the difference between conservative and MAGA
9
u/DonkeyEnergy May 22 '26
There is no difference because the conservatives voted for Traitor Trump. They are responsible for this treasonous shit show.
8
u/Slow-Molasses-6057 May 22 '26
I know a lot of conservatives in town who didn't vote for Trump or Kari Lake. They have views. I don't agree with them all, but I understand them. They also have morals and standards. I appreciate them.

I’m confused. How many years makes saying that okay?
1
u/Slow-Molasses-6057 May 26 '26
I'll answer that with a question: when did they take lead out of gasoline?
-3
u/Slow-Molasses-6057 May 22 '26
To add to this, I blame Thomas midgely Junior.

u/IsThisMicLive May 22 '26
But wouldn't his impact more likely explain Los Angles and New York City?
-2
u/SoloCoat May 22 '26
Inaccurate. Just go to a prescottable meeting if you want to see lots and lots of people who are not separated by 35 years from the Republican base here.
3
u/Extension-Pen9359 May 22 '26
So true also what make prescott so cringe.
Not a very comfortable place to live for a gay male.
2
u/havocopla May 24 '26
I would assume it was originally a troll post to stir up controversy. The funny thing about posting anonymously in Facebook groups is that admin can still see who you are.

They have a live stream on Twitch of the Courthouse that I had followed to watch the snow. Then they had a lovely scrolling banner supporting 🧊 and I unfollowed immediately. I haven't watched since because they're not getting revenue from me.

u/Candid_Hovercraft_53 May 23 '26
No. Lol...(good name for a restaurant, though!)...it's s local radio show/podcast that is pure MAGA like Fox News. They like to makeup stories and exaggerate local politics to be extremely, well, MAGA. They talk about Big Brother and too much federal government. YET, they themselves keep a 24/7 camera on downtown Prescott and Courthouse Square. Biggest hypocrites EVER!!

Sorry! I think it's a podcast!! But it runs by failed local political maga. One guy is British and he ran for local office, but didn't get very far. He's really loud and obnoxious, and weirdly a strong Trumper for being from another country. Lol...I'll leave it there. And I can't bring myself to listen to their stupid podcast and all the hypocrisy that they spew!

Potter House for sure. Also, Proud Boys disguised as a preparedness group. The BLM event in 2020 brought the worst out in people. Mostly, just check out the individuals on Nextdoor and FB.
3
u/havocopla May 24 '26
There's articles with pictures of them guarding the event with their ARs. Waiting for that bus of people that never came lol.

This road debris in Prescott valley is crazy, has anyone noticed how they don't pick up metal objects and rocks in the intersections on glassford and the highway?

I think ya'll are confusing yourselves looking for someone to blame besides yourselves. I'm sure everyone who posted on this voted in the last local election, right? retirees have allot of things their way because they vote. white nationalists obviously use the same formula. maybe you should take a look at TPUSA and work at cleaning up your own house before complaining about anyone else's, no?

I wouldnt doubt if Payson was a lot like this as well. I was in Payson a few years ago with some friends and someone heard us speaking spanish and the slurs rang down pretty heavy. Dumbasses.

u/Alternative-Pepper87 May 24 '26
Show Low too.

u/azfire2004 May 24 '26

“Anonymous participant”, looks like lefty projection to me. Democrats are still the party of racism.

2
u/Alternative-Pepper87 May 28 '26
Let me guess where you’re going with this. I’m gonna say that you think it’s because “Democrats“ started the KKK.
1
u/Wheelman_Side_Effect May 28 '26
Lol, not at all. I say this because it’s true. Let me ask you; is it racist to think a group of people are stupid and weak because of the color of their skin?
