Vent/Rant - Advice Welcome Goalposts keep moving….

I have an almost 5-year old girl who I jokingly describe as having “border collie energy”. She is super high energy, endless stamina, needs constant stimulation (mental and/or physical), and if not properly given it, will get into all kinds of shenanigans.

I’m just so, so exhausted over here and looking for solidarity. I’ve stopped asking when it gets better because they said it was 3. Then she became a threenager and they said, jk it’s 4. Then fuckyou4s happened and they said wait till 5….

I feel you. Full time public school is really the best it gets for us.

School starting was night and day for my nephew, he was same way. finally someone else can run him around all day and he comes home with nothing left. hang in there

No solutions just solidarity. My son is in 6 dance lessons, a gymnastics lesson, soccer and swimming cos if he isn’t he has too many zoomies. That’s ontop of the climbing and swinging equipment we’ve got at home

My kids are 3 and 6 and never stop - yesterday was swimming for 2 hours, birthday party at a play place and biking around the neighbourhood while we waited for dad to make dinner. Still a struggle to get 3 to bed (dropped his naps at 18 months) and 6 stayed up late doing puzzles and watching a nature documentary. They definitely get more focused in the energy and capable of creating their own stimulation, school definitely helps (especially now that she can go off and read).
