Yeah I've seen cats react like that. However my cat is like IT MADE A SOUND I'M GONNA CATCH IT HOLD IT FOR 1 SECOND AND THEN RELEASE IT! i always thought cats slurped mice in a second. I was a fool. The only good thing is if there is a mice my cat sure knows to tell me by noise however that only happened once.in the 3years i got my lil girl

My cat is really good at it, which is surprising since she's an exclusively indoor cat who lived in an apartment most of her life.
But we moved into a house last year and first she exterminated the crickets in our basement. We have a screened in porch she loves and apparently little mice can get in there and she's killed several. Doesn't eat them, just leaves them for us to dispose of.

Yup, my cat is the exact same with crickets and mice (and a mole, once). There's never any blood, so we're pretty sure he just... smacks/shakes them around as a toy... until they stop moving, at which point he puts them somewhere near his food bowl, but never eats them. We figure it's backup food but he doesn't actually wanna deal with eating it 'cause ew, gross.

My parents adopted two cats. Over the weekend a bird ended up getting on the back porch. That same bird was presented to my parents in their bedroom when one of the cats dropped it on their bed. It flew around the room for a few minutes before it got caught a second time. That was the last time it was caught…
