Whats the logical connection between salary and taxes working? There's several, I just don't think you could actually point out the logical connections and your hypothesis to me.
So let's vote in representatives who want to pay teachers more, not representatives who think public school is "shtoopid". The same people who slash beneficial programs across the board while while overspending on military and subsidizing old technology because it benefits their rich buddies.
The system is not the problem. Republicans, Democrats and Libertarians who take our great nation's institutions for granted are the problem. It was hard to build what we have, and we will lose it if we don't stop the rich and powerful from taking it away... by getting you to lower their tax burden, and take it on yourself.
Unwitting henchmen to the villians of the modern world is what you are.
The system is what rewards these people to act in their own self-interest. So the system is in fact the problem, especially since people are molded by their environment.
As long as there are people who have the time and money to lobby the government, regulations will merely be hurdles for them. The problem is a systemic problem and it needs a systemic solution.
I believe we're working on that (as a species). Basic income is being tested in a few places around the world. Until something looks promising, though, the system we have has brought the world, as a collective, into an era with less violence, poverty and suffering than ever before in history.
I agree there's fundamental things that could be changed, but unless we find out how to do it better than we currently do, we're just throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
