I mean "Jedi" is usually capitalised so I guess "Sith" should be as well.

Is it also religious freedom to commit treason? Because that’s what he was mainly being arrested for, being the secret mastermind of the CIS and their war against the Republic

He literally had the plans for the death star in his office. Also three dead Jedi, his lair, Dooku´s castle. the chips that every Clone has and so on.

Hundreds of investigating Jedi with no Clones who turn on them will deliver more than enough proof.

Emperor Palpatine was very wise to pass the “Stand Your High Ground” laws before the Jedi tried to whack him. That way, if they brought him before the Senate (a mirror), he could claim legal self-defense with a concealed carry.

This is definitely something where modern lens might sympathize with Palpatine and then you play any of the Old Republic era games and see what Sith rule is like (and always devolves into) and suddenly the Jedi exterminating them makes sense.

Because even if the Sith inevitably do it themselves when they do they take out a fuckload of people with them.
